looking better!!!

but i fell this morning, slipped on the tile. luckily fell backwards so only hurt my leg incidently. when i had the original injury at 16 i landed with akk my weight on the ankle. ouchie.

this time i was blessed. did not hit my head or break anything. as julie was at work and my cell was in my office. God was watching over this damned fool.

i could have hit the sink, toilet or tub with my head. or broken an arm or leg.

but i only wrenched my back an dhurt my leg a wee bit.

sarge, did no one tell you to not shower while alone in the house until you are fully stable? Or was this just in the bathroom?

Please always have some way of contacting someone with you at all times until you are healed, if needed.

horrible night last night.

to set it up - the ac shut down last month or so. well it got miserably hot. lay down for bed and woke up ten mintes soaked through.

my leg was throbbing and i am low on my hydrocone - so i took some flexeril. well turns out it disagreed with me for the first time ever.

instead of slowng me down it sped me up. and made me very sick to my stomach. never wanted to vomit so bad in my life.

so i tried to induce vomiting the old fashioned way. i have a very strong gag reflex - but could not make that work. so i hopped up and down the hallway, drank lots of water and hoped it would pass.

sat down got amionute or two of sleep, but i was really on edge so i tried the bed. ten minutes later back down the hallway to the chair.

this went on till julie came home at 8:30 am. this all started around 2 am.

not a lot of fun. but julie is having the ac guy come to see if we can get the beast working at least for this summer.

since i slept during the day - i missed my ride out to hastings to pick up some graphic novels. :( and i missed a whole day of reading. not fun.

Oh Sarge, see my post on the "How do you feel today" thread.

What a night! Glad you were able to sleep in the day though.

Just saw your comment on my strawberry picture. Thanks. Not as good as the jack in the box one though. My mum was a wizard with crepe paper!

Yes, get that a/c fixed. We just open a window and then I'm kept awake by the lorries going past :) Or I go in the spare room where I can swop between the hot side and the cold side :D

Now, I really must clean this room as I have a neighbour coming in tonight to do some [whoops nearly gave the game away] to look some things up on my computer. The room looks like Quentin Crisp's flat ;)

Sarge, if you like cute, here is a good one for you

Image

These are my grandsons before going to a party. You may notice that they are not like two peas in a pod! Their mother is Portuguese and her parents are from an island off Africa (I can't remember which one - St. something).

The eldest, now 6, is pure anglo saxon, and the youngest (now 5) has a deep suntan. My granddaughter, now 7 months, is somewhere between the two :)

I thought this might cheer you up a bit.

They cheered *me* up, anyhow -- how adorable! :)

Sarge -- hope today is better for you. And yeah, get that a/c fixed pronto. I can't imagine how anybody survives in Texas without a/c....

Well, don't tell anyone else, Sarg, but she is a bit stuck on her family history, so I'm going to help her a bit.

Sleep well. As my father used to say: Night Night, shirt shirt, wake up fresh in the morning, all the bed and all the clothes, one for luck, two for luck, three for the old man's [should be coconut, but it was whatever was topical on that day]. Ridiculous, but fun. He said that to me every night for many years.

How will that work with your job if, as you said in the running thread, you cannot run? Will you be at a desk after this? Glad to hear it is getting better.
