You're quite welcome. I agree that his writing brings in so much detail, yet none of it is wasted. Even this revelation is foreshadowed early on where it is observed that Elega and Myste looked like "indoor and outdoor versions of each other" (or words to that effect).

Yes, and the "indoor and outdoor versions of each other" part is indeed a hint that they favor the same parent in appearance. Good catch, IS, I never noticed that!



Okay, for the next Mordant's Need trivia question, I'm going to stick with the subjects of Elga and Myste.

When Myste visits Elega in the Alend camp, she doesn't trut Elega and tries to leave shortly after a meeting with her. Elega shares a message she got from their father that persuades Myste to trust Elega . What did that message say from King Joyse say?

I wouldn't have been quite so lenient for a first guess, but yeah the "intent" is correct, and that is indeed the "public" message. Still, I would have held out for her acting for the best reasons, as this is the "private" message where he passes on the clue (which Myste picked up on) that he was acting by design.
