I don't like it.

Bring back Darryl K. Sweet, I think HIS cover would have been better than this thing. It brings to mind the cover art for "The One Tree" (the one with Chant and Daphin posing in Elmesnedene) but less interesting.

That being said, I'll buy the book even if there was a steaming turd on the cover.

Don't like the Sweet covers either. In fact, I think I like this one more than those, but that's not saying much. :D

And the disparity between this one and the US Runes is pretty big too. Shame to have non-matching covers really, isn't it?

Yes, it is. I would've liked to have had Whelan back for this cover.

He do the US Runes? (Didn't like it either to be honest.)

When I think of him, I think DT.

I like it. It looks like a fatal revenant.
Old man how is it that you hear these things?
Young man how is it that you do not?

Ugh. It's horrible. It's a generic fantasy cover.

I disagree. Runes had a generic fantasy cover!

It doesn't get much more generic than "Old-man-with-flowing-white-bead-clutching-a-staff-in-front-of-a-tree".

Color me disappointed.

People make crayons... out of me?

I would like the cover alot more if that damned staff had heels on it. I need a good visual reference of the new staff of law for my costume. Other things needed, in case there's a doctor on the Watch, include finger amputation, and something to make me snarkier.

What a let down. I've been waiting for the new cover to come out and then we get this...sigh.

And as far as who it is...I think it's probably Wildwood from Garroting Deep or one of the other Forestals.

Has the UK cover surfaced yet? Hopefully it's better.
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

In re: Forestals. Did they all have staffs? Did any of them have staffs? I can't remember. Also, the mental image I got of a forestal was more like a human/tree hybrid. Like an ent, but man-sized and more 'human.'

Also, didn't SRD say there would be no more time travel, or something close to that? I was under the impression that Hile Troy became The Last Forestal. (Somewhere, a TV Exec just had an idea for a horrible TV Movie...)

OK, if even Furlsy hates this cover, then it's gotta be bad.

I like it. But then I like most of the other covers as well. The only one I didn't warm up to was the Sweet cover for The One Tree. I even like the more simple UK covers.

The only reason why Romeo and Sea say that they like it is because they're trying to suck up to the Big Man. :P :P :P -jay

I actually hate it. The more i see it, the less i want to read the book.

Seems so. :(
I don´t like it either - hoping for a better one for the english version.

But Warmark: as long as you read the book, you don´t need to look at the cover

If that was the case, I wouldn't have ever said that I liked most of the Sweet covers.
