I think I'm going to have to call all of my single girl-friends and have a Anti-Vday celebration. It will have to include decadent food--perhaps a chocolate fondue?--and substantial quantities of spirits so we can drown our sorrows.
Next year, when Boy and I live together, I'm going to ask for a puppy for Valentine's day. I know I won't get it THAT day, but that's what I'm going to ask for.

That's the rub of it. . . I don't have very many of them, and those I do have all have seemed to disqualify themselves in one way or another. Perhaps I need to make some new friends. .
Perhaps they will bring friends, eh? Tell all the guys you invite that you will have tons of women there, so they must bring a single male friend you don't know, or they can't come in. Then, only invite like a half-dozen women.

I did that one year with my single girl friends, it was lots of fun. We made cookies that looked like the candy hearts y'know with the I Love You messages on them but we made them to say things like "You Look Fat In That" and "You're Kidding, Right?". As it turned out we went out and had much more fun than our friends who had dates since we had nobody to impress, were dressed comfortably, and didn't have to remember to open doors and have a surprise around every corner.
"...and if you do not listen, then to hell with you."
That sounds like fun! Though, with Fist's post, I'm contemplating calling friends and having them call friends (boys too). Or I could always make up flyers. . .
