As he points out upthread, this "entertainment" is...disquieting. Leaving aside the issue of whether I should have brought it up, I admire the art in how he verbally sketched in the detail that Av had not. Knowing how to play the judge is a valuable talent!

For those who haven't read the scene, it really is exemplary of the Billingate that SRD creates. Like Mos Eisley in another galaxy, Billingate is a "wretched hive of scum and villainy."

Well, I think (you aren't the only one due for a reread) there was a similar, but distinct setting from the cataleptic that was used in combination with another, but if you manage to come up with the other, I will call it close enough.

Oh, from a hint standpoint, the setting that yours may or may not be was added to the other one in order to achieve the effect.

It might have been catatonia instead of catalepsy. I actually don't know if there's a substantive difference between the two, but I think I remember learning the word catatonia from reading The Gap series.

Well, for sake of clarity, for that half of the answer I was actually going for "sleep", which I thought was called out as something different from the cataleptic state that Angus normally kept her in. (Again, I am probably due for a reread myself...) In any case, it is still only half of the answer.

On reflection, I think Holsety is right about it being catatonia, not catalepsy, which is not quite the same thing. In fact, the former leads to the latter.
