Hahaha, I can't believe that, after all they put you through, they still have the gall to "audit" you.

It's a standard procedure. I get a regular audit once per month and a few surprise ones sprinkled in throughout the year. I do inventory management, so most of the numbers I'm moving around have dollar signs attached. I still don't know exactly what my last boss did that got him escorted out of the building in handcuffs, but it's a sad fact that a very high percentage of humans will steal if they think they can get away with it.
For what it's worth, data integrity is a Big Thing with the company right now, and I got an award from the VP recently.

I don't have audits or performance reviews or anything like that.

(See the "Work" thread.

Yeah, I don't really need another venue for complaining about work. In positive news, I noticed one of my coworkers reading a GRRM book today. It's the first time since I've worked there that I have ever seen someone read a book. I've had coworkers call me weird for reading in public, as though it's something vaguely shameful that should be done in private. Half of them are functionally illiterate and incapable of composing a basic email. I've never worked anywhere else where that would fly, but maybe it's just because most of my previous jobs were in the book industry. I miss being able to communicate with people.
Guess I probably should have taken that to the Work Thread anyway.

A Storm of Swords - so he probably read the first two as well.

Wish he'd bloody get around to finishing them...

Right? I'm a year behind on the TV series because I don't have HBO, and I'm already confused about what's canon. It helps a little that I've read the books more than I've watched the show, but when I post on the TV thread I have to constantly check to make sure I'm not posting book spoilers - though I guess they aren't really spoilers at this point since the TV series is ahead.

I thought it was even now, and that the next series will be ahead? (I could be wrong...I don't actually watch it, but the GF does.)

The last season (which I haven't seen, but gave up trying to avoid spoilers for) definitely passed the books.

I stand corrected.

I'm surprised you were able to avoid spoilers - they were up one side of the internet and down the other. Plus all my WoW friends watch. I started yelling "Spoilers!" in guild chat, partly because that would switch at least part of the conversation to Doctor Who.

Well, like I said, I don't actually watch it.

And a good 3/5ths of my internet is the Watch.
Maybe I never noticed any because I don't care...
