Chasing 1 Million Posts - November 2016

Post by Avatar »

Well, our drive to 1 million posts is nearing its conclusion. After a record breaking month in October, we're currently sitting on a grand total of 997,599 posts.

Our current score for November so far is 85 posts on the 1st.

This leaves us with only 2,401 posts to go.

At our current rate, we can hit the big 1 million this month.

And...GO!

Well it is monumental regardless of how we get there. Its not important to me whether all 1 million posts were discussions about Thomas Covenant or not. We all have varied interests so its natural to have a variety of different topics discussed. Aside from double posting I don't view most of our entries as spam. Having fun in the games forum is member interaction and much needed recreational communication. Sure they tackle the big questions in the Tank and The Close (which is very much needed by the way) but having fun is just as important IMHO. On to a Million. :-)

(BTW its not lost on me that if Thomas Covenant was a real person and ever posted on this board he wouldn't do so in Mallory's. He'd probably give everyone what for in the Tank.)

Are you saying the ends justify the means? *gasp*

naw, naw, you said what you meant...
*de-commences heckling*
(and taking people out of context)

The one you raise about "if Thomas Covenant was a real person and ever posted on this board..." is an amusing one, though. :)

3014 for me for the start of this month.

They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.

Thomas Covenant would be great at the Corrupt a Wish game.

It would be a wonderful thing if after we cross a million posts the daily count remains steady. They say the first million is always the hardest.

Shame we can't duplicate the hellfires count to a larger display in the banner across from "KEVINSWATCH" in the grassy area under the tree on the left side. By the time we figured out how to code it we'd probably have already logged the millionth post.

I don't know if I'll have the energy to keep it up...maybe when we start approaching 2 million. :D

Anyway, 414.

If it takes another decade and a half to get to 2 million the site may not look anything like it does now. For one thing we won't be typing into a keyboard to post our thoughts we will all have an electroencephalographic interface surgically installed into our brains so posting will be a breeze.

If that happens, that means hackers could read our thoughts, sell the information to the highest bidder, which would be the governandent, and then we'd all be put in jail by the thought police.

Well...yeah.

Trust me. In a decade we'll all prefer to be in jail.

I had kind of a slow weekend thus we didn't cross 1000 posts in the first week of November but maybe by mid week this week.

BTW I'm trying to make every post a quality post but sometimes you reach down into your soul and you find an empty pantry. That's no reason to stop posting though. :-)

Hah!
Really?
I tend to be stymied even if I find the pantry's untidy or what-not.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel and its not a gorilla with a flashlight. (I don't really know what that means I just heard it somewhere. It does paint an interesting word picture though.)
