Sadly, I have no excitement, since I have no idea when I will see a copy.

None of the bookstores around here will have it out until then, either, so I will pick it up that afternoon on my way to work, and begin reading it the next morning on my way to Chicago on the train.

Hopefully Damelon will have begun reading it by the time I see him next weekend, so we can compare notes.

But if he hasn't, I promise not to spoil him.

I am so lucky. I only found out about the last chronicles..umm...a week ago? maybe a week and a half... so my wait time is considerably short. Way to go all of you who've waited so long without going crazy.

Mine's coming tomorrow...oh, the suspense! How ever will I be able to concentrate on writing assembly when I've got Runes next to me?

Now I have a dilemma. I have the car today, and there's a Books a Million not far off my commute, so I could cruise by there tonight (TONIGHT!!) and see whether they have Runes on the shelf (TONIGHT!!!).
But...last weekend, while checking Waldenbooks to see whether, by some miracle, they'd jumped the publication date, too (this is significant because I had a $5 off coupon from their now-defunct readers' club), we spotted the new Tamora Pierce book. See, Tamora Pierce is a Very Big Deal in our house. When I showed Youngest Daughter the book, she did a happy dance right there in the store. So of course I had to use my $5 off coupon for "Trickster's Queen". And now both of my daughters have finished it and I've just started it and...aaugh!! It's just not fair!!!

Gahh, I'll have to wait until October 29... But that's better than nothing, I guess: think of the poor people over here who will never get a chance to read "The Last Chronicles" because the book won't be translated (as far as I know) and relatively few people know English well enough to be able to read through any Covenant book...
Being smart, I'm not even going to order it online... I'll be visiting London and buy the book when I get there
