They didn't get in until around 9pm last night, Mom stayed at the hospital until about 7 this morning, took a long nap and went back around noon. She's there now with Alex. He's not doing all that great. :( Meds are making him sick, along with the infections.

AIDS is horrible, just horrible. Please keep Alex in your prayers all. :(

Hi Godschild! Don't think we've met, I'm Brooke, Tracie's eldest daughter. Nice to meet you! :)

Stupid people infuriate me. :?

No. Not you Fisty..hehehehe

Thanks Brooke for filling everyone in. Alex collapsed at work Monday night, it's a good thing he was working with someone else at the time and not alone. By the time I heard about it he was already in the hospital over there in Salem. Stupid people there. And that "doctor", I wanted to strangle him. After I found out what was going on with him, I immediately called Liz...now mind you, it was like 11:30pm by this time. By morning, she had the transfer orders all ready to go. THEN, I had to battle for the ambulance transport. UGH!!!

Anyway, water under the bridge...or over it...whichever. He's doing better, fever broke in the middle of the night. In alot of pain from the intenstinal infection, but the morphine helps that. I'm going to leave my laptop with him today when I go home for a bit. So he might come on and say "Hi" :)

Russ, Myles and the boys are on their way to Salem to pack up his apt and get the kitty. He's here now to stay. :D

Thanks everyone! Wow, never had so many people caring about my well-being. I really appreciate all the support.

I'm still here in the hospital. I'm scheduled for a blood transfusion around 4, if the tests come back ok. If they don't, it will have to wait until tomorrow. You all should have seen Tracie in Salem, she didn't take any s**t from anyone. I think she even intimidated my dr there. She's the sweetest person in the world, but don't get her riled up, she will ream you out a new one. LOL! And me? I wouldn't have known any better when he wanted to start radiation on me. But she knew.

I thank God for sending Stephen to me, and leading me to Tracie. I believe she actually saved my life Tuesday.

I know I keep saying this to you, but I'm going to say it again here. Thank you, Dear Lady. :)

I'll take "Clueless Doctors" for $400, Alex!

Sorry, lame Jeopardy joke. Couldn't resist.

Anyway, hope the transfusion goes well!

:haha:

Thanks Neo, I needed that laugh.

So, here's the scoop. When I got back to the hospital late yesterday afternoon, Alex's fever had spiked again. So, that meant another round of tests. And, sigh, there are traces of MAC bacterium. :( So, Liz has him on IV antibiotics (Zithromax). Hopefully, we caught it in time. With his CD4 as low as it is, he's at risk for so many of these infections...

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. The hard days are fast approaching.

and when they say it's all touch and go, I wish I could make it go away...

Info on MAC:
Mycobacterium Avium Complex (MAC) is a serious illness caused by common bacteria. MAC is also known as MAI (Mycobacterium Avium Intracellulare). MAC infection can be localized (limited to one part of the body) or disseminated (spread through the whole body, sometimes called DMAC). MAC infection often occurs in the lungs, intestines, bone marrow, liver, and spleen.

The bacteria that cause MAC are very common. They are found in water, soil, dust, and food. Almost everyone has them in their body. A healthy immune system will control MAC, but people with weakened immune systems can develop MAC disease.

Up to 50% of people with AIDS may develop MAC, especially if their CD4 cell count is below 50. MAC almost never causes disease in people with more than 100 CD4 cells.
That's it in a nutshell...

For Alex:

Rescue Me--Wynonna Judd

What do you do when you're scared inside?
When all of your feelings just seem to collide
Emotions just seem to let go
All of your tears always follow

All of these things that you're feeling deep down
And you realize that you're calling out loud

I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
Rescue me, rescue me

What do you do when the path leads nowhere?
When you need someone to be there
Now you're afraid of what's gonna come
And now there's nowhere to run

All of these things that you're feeling deep down
Then you realize that you're calling out loud

I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
Rescue me, rescue me

Oh it's love's sweet salvation
With Christ the Blessed Lamb
We can get through anything as long as it's you and me

I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
Rescue me, rescue me

May the Light of the Lord shine down and grace you with His divine healing. We love you!!! |G

I was able to get a bed and equipment delivered to the house yesterday. So, as soon as he can get the transfusion, which will probably won't be until monday or tuesday, we'll be able to bring him home. Nursing is all set up, so we'll be able to give him IV meds here when he needs them. Hospital will be last resort.

Seeing all the equipment back and set up in the den brings back all the memories of Zia and Isaiah's (Lynne's too) final days with us. My heart is starting to break again. And Alex, he's already asking to pass sooner rather than later. He came to us just in time, he came when he absolutely needed too. I wish it had been sooner, but I don't question the ways of the Father. It happened when it was supposed too. Now, I pray for the strength to help Alex in all ways that I can. And hope it will be enough.

It's more than enough, Tracie. It's more than I ever dreamed I would ever receive from anyone.

Thank you
