Are the Left 4 Dead games on PS3? They're very good.
I've been playing Batman: Arkham City. And lots of it.

I tried the demo of Deathspank: The Baconing. Me likey! I have the full version of the first two games, and while this one looks like more of the same, I like the game and want new funny.
And I really want Arkham City. I'm trying to decide if I should wait for Xmas or not.

I paid full price and walked to and from work for a few days.

Got Arkham City yesterday, and have started it up. So far, it's a little wide open for my tastes, but I'm sure I'll find it guiding me soon enough. Lots of stuff I don't understand yet, such as what is with all the Riddler pads on the buildings? I'm sure I'll catch on soon enough.

And now I'm playing it a lot. Considering I've waited more than 10 years for this, (well, a bit less...since Rome anyway), I'm still enjoying it.
Took me 24 hours before I could play thanks to Steam and huge patches, but it wasn't as bad as Napoleon, frustration-wise.
Stunningly done, but I've put in a few mods to tweak the gameplay and appearance a little to suit me better.

In case you haven't figured this out yet (and I went through my first play-through without realising) the Riddler challenges in Arkham City are part of a side mission you have to actively seek out, unlike Arkham Asylum where they just happen as you go along.Cagliostro wrote:Got Arkham City yesterday, and have started it up. So I clocked the main storyline on B:AC and now I'm playing through again going for 100%. Or at least all side missions completed, as the Riddler trophies in AA really tried my patience, and there's even more in this game.

I've got a vacation day today (gotta use them up before the end of the year), so I whipped out my copy of UT3... and I remembered why I was so disappointed with it
Seriously, how does a game with "Tournament" in the title NOT have a tournament in the game?!?!?
Anyway, it got me thinking... what are some games that have good online ranking systems? I'm thinking more than just a global leaderboard, here. Starcraft 2 comes to mind... any others?

I got Uncharted 3 for Christmas, which is quite a kick so far.
I also got Rocksmith, and after buying a coupler to make it work yesterday from a very grumpy Radio Shack employee, I was able to try it out for an hour. It looks like an especially good tool for learning guitar.
I also got Just Dance 3 for the Wii, which so far is a blast for the wife and I, and very taxing. This is our exercise machine for 2012.
So now if I can find time to play Uncharted, learn the guitar and exercise among giving time to my kids, it should be a busy year.

Got Assassin's Creed: Revelations for Christmas. So far, very similar to the other games, with some cool new moves and equipment etc. Played the first Altair level last night, great to be back with that guy.

I know I'm behind the times, but with Skyrim coming out I saw Oblivion for $12 on Steam, and tried it.
I'm a little less than ambivalent about it; it's not great, but it's entertaining in a slow kind of way. Reminds me a little of the old Baldur's Gate games, where I would get more involved in the side quests than the main story (kind of like Fallout 3, which I loved, also from Bethesda).
It's tempting me to use my tax return to upgrade my computer. I could move up to a processor roughly twice the speed of my current one, double my RAM (and the speed it runs at), and finally move to Crossfire. Heh, maybe then I could finally play Crysis at smooth frame rates, too

I've barely touched any main quests in Skyrim. I'm over 100 in-game days in. It's just far too huge, too much to do. Recently turned the difficulty up from Adept (normal) to Expert (the next one up, but one below hardest) because I felt like I was having too easy a time in it. So far I'm still not getting many random dragon encounters but some of the other fights have been fun.
Skyrim. While it was slow going at first, the levelling system is much better than Oblivion (in Oblivion, if I played for "fun," the monsters would quickly outpace me in power. Google "oblivion levelling problem" if you aren't familiar with it).
I'm having a blast so far, dabbling in some main quests, spending most of my time on side quests. I've managed to kill a few dragons on my own, but despite my only facing the weakest version of them they're still quite tough.
