Greetings all
I've been a fan of SRD since the 80's
I can’t believe the 3rd Chronicles is just a few mounts away
I'll be looking forward to hearing everyone’s ideas and views about how things will take shape.
Till next time don’t take any wooden sunstones
Mike

Tobyb20 wrote:Hello all, after much coarcing by my sister (bird and bear) I decided to check out this site. Although I may not have read all his works, I am an avid donaldson fan. I loved the Covenant books and would like to meet people who share my enthusiasm for reading. I am a father of 5 and am currently under the task of making my children read the potter books. If you feel up to the task of cracking this ignorant walnut, post me.

You are truly welcome. If you are anything like your sister you'll be a great member.

Hi, everyone - quick intro and hello

Well I read the Chronicles a long time ago, loved every book in the series and just recently (inspired by a thread on another message board that I belong to) bought the first book again. Time to reread the series!
Anyway, I am a huge fan of the Chronicles, and of the Mordant's Need series - and from what I hear, I have to start reading the Gap books as well.
Oh, and all this morning after I read "Something there is in beauty," I've been trying to figure out why it was sounding so familiar to me - I didn't think it was from having read the books before, and even SRD mentions in the book that it struck Covenant as familiar. It nagged at me endlessly - until I googled (on a half inspired whim) "Something there is in" and "Frost". Voila. At least I've gotten that off my mind!
(Oh, and the Covenant books were the first books ever to make me cry.)

Welcome, Fettered One. Great poem, that; my favorite next to Tuft of Flowers.

Have just joined and hear an introduction is polite.

Stumbled upon the site quite by accident a while ago but it caught my interest. Have yet to read the Chronicles but have enjoyed the Reed Stephens novels which I am in the middle of and the short stories that have been done. After which the Gap series has been suggested as a 'must read' by a friend.
And since I work in libraries I am always interested in new books to read and authors to discuss. (even if I am a fussy reader)
I am pleasantly surprised by what I have read by Stephen Donaldson so far.
Anyway...shall now go wander off and explore a bit more...

Hi all,
I am new to this forum (but not to SRD!!) and wanted to say how exciting it is to find a place that loves the Land and its stories as much as I do. I have read all of SRD's Fiction novels and enjoyed them all, but The Chronicles are my favourite by far.........what an unexpected joy to find out that there will be 4 more volumns to read, I can't wait for the start of the "Last".

I just joined, though I've been lurking for a month or so--I too found KW while looking for news on the 3rd chrons. I read TC the first time in high school and found them absolutely terrifying--was scared to read them again! But it stayed with me...they're one of those things that the mind goes back to over and over. Mordant's Need and the short stories were much more my style (I thought) till I rediscovered TC this winter...and here I am.
It's great to find a place where thoughtful discussion and occasional silliness are not mutually exclusive!
