(Do you think the Nietzsche quote under your posts Z, means that we should concentrate our efforts (thinking wise) on earthly things and not on the 'spiritual' aspects of being?)
It means that we can be virtuous without religion. In fact, it's more virtuous and authentic to align your values with things that are real (e.g. earth, body) than things that are mythological (e.g. Heaven, spirit).

It sunk the series. There's things I like that came after W&G, but the story changed dramatically, and not for the better.
I think each book was a dramatic change from the one before, especially in the beginning, and didn't find its thematic focus until W&G onward. It was W&G that introduced the idea that these books were part of a literary tradition extending even beyond King's own work (Wizard of Oz). And all the connections to King's writing, how the characters traversed literary universes, opens the door to a "meta-view" of writing itself. It would be like hobbits appearing on the starship Enterprise. It breaks the 4th wall, so to speak. There's no logical explanation, in terms of either science fiction or fantasy, for such an encounter. It only makes sense on a view that transcends both of these works of fiction, and this view is one that views it as fiction.

Well, I finally saw this movie. Yeesh. It's exactly the movie you would expect if a studio had to make SOMETHING due to contractual obligations and a looming deadline, but had no good ideas. I didn't find anything redeeming in this movie, and I'm a generous guy. The most entertaining part of it was trying to remember where I saw Jake's mom before. (Answer: House MD.)
