MARVEL'S MOCKINGBIRD?? Is ABC Developing A Bobbi Morse AGENTS OF SHIELD Spin-Off For Next Season??
Given ABC’s penchant for shows featuring female protagonists, I’d guess the network is giving serious thought to a show centered on SHIELD agent ...

The actress playing Bobbi Morse is easy to watch on the screen but I am doubtful she is capable of carrying her own show, at least as well as Hayley Atwell did with her Peggy Carter. I wouldn't mind Jamie Alexander getting a Sif show but it would impossible to keep it from being a Xena ripoff.
I keep telling Mrs. Lebwohl that one of these days people are going to find out that Coulson is still alive and that they are going to be a mix of glad to see him but pissed off for being tricked. This also proves that sometimes Heimdall is a dick--he knows but hasn't told Thor yet. "Odin" knows since Sif would have reported to him after bringing back Lorelei.
Pratt wanted to cameo as Star-Lord on the show but that probably won't happen--even for a TV show about fake spy agencies and metahumans trying to justify him coming to Earth might be a stretch of the already-suspended disbelief.
Both Arrow and Flash are slightly better than Agents at this time because the acting is a little better and they have managed to move away from the twenty-something angsty romances, the single greatest distraction both shows had.

Marvel doesn't seem concerned about the possibility of oversaturating the market.
Agent Carter was a good "diversion", but it had an arc that began and ended rather than than just spinning out into the void like SHEILD. One SHEILD is okay. But two or more?
Besides, I always thought SHEILD was primarily a standing vehicle to tie-in the films. Why more than one vehicle?

Money.
What is ridiculous is the the Agent Carter show might not get a second season, which is a damned shame. The Russian psychiatrist wound up being the cell-mate with Dr. Zola (done on purpose, perhaps? who knows) before he was conscripted into SHIELD and Dot, the Widow who wanted to be (or be with) Peggy, escaped--having a rogue Widow on the loose is a dangerous thing.
The Mockingbird series won't last, unfortunately. If they don't stop getting weird with it then Agents is going to go the way of Heroes--it will be a "what the hell?" series that isn't internally consistent with itself any more.
I concur with I'm Murrin--it is pretty obvious now that Raina is clairvoyant or, perhaps, a precog. That is ironic since when we first met her she was working for someone calling himself "the Clairvoyant".
I think the plan is to tie Skye/Daisy in with the Inhumans in some way.

Everyone loves Peggy Carter. AoS's problem is "too many characters"--Coulson himself, May, Fitz&Simmons, Daisy, Lincoln (the electrokinetic), Lance, Bobbi, Mack, the new guy who can melt things, Ward, and Andrew/Lash. Everyone gets a little plot development so the show winds up being thin and drawn out.
It is a shame about Rosalind, though, despite the fact that the cellist is still in Seattle.
Agents of Shield--the world's longest movie prologue. The Inhumans isn't set for release until 2019. The TV show won't last that long, I don't think.

What the Hell? No, literally--the Agents of SHIELD Season 4 trailer from SDCC features Ghost Rider's skull and flame-enhanced chain.
That's a completely different direction for that show. It also means one other thing--Marvel has decided to include Ghost Rider in the official MCU.

From the Doctor Strange thread...
Also, how close was Ghostrider's origin story to the comic for Robbie's manifestation of him?
So, this book is known in the comic universe?Hashi Lebwohl wrote:Interestingly, the current season of Agents of SHIELD is using Ghost Rider and the one set of bad guys just got their hands on the Darkhold, the book of dark magic originally written by Chthon. Its pages are blank when you first look at them then the book translates its writings and shows them to you in your native language for ease of use.sgt.null wrote:I believe they are sitting up Baron Mordo for a later film.
I would like to see the Dr. STrange films explore the vast number of magic users in the Marvel universe.

In the comics the Darkhold is very well known. Varnae, the chief sorcerer from Atlantis, used the book to become the first vampire. Dr. Strange later used it to cast the Montesi Formula, a spell found in the book which destroyed all vampires on Earth. The book was subsequently used once again to bring Varnae back to unlife. Sarge can probably tell you more about it than I can.
I don't know the Robbie Reyes character from the comics but they are doing a good job with him on the show. Given that "magic" in the MCU is really just quantum manifestations in the macro universe (our normal four-dimensional reality) then "I sold my soul to the devil" really means "I entered into a barter agreement with a being from another dimension, exchanging my astral/mental energy at the moment of my death for the ability to manipulate energy/have powers now".
If you notice, the "color" of the "ghosts" in the TV show is the same "color" they use for Dr. Strange's astral form in the movie. Your "astral form" is your consciousness existing in an alternate quantum state.
We already knew from the first Thor movie, though, that magic and science are one and the same, at a sufficiently advanced level.
