My take on this show is that this is the one show that makes me actually want cable TV again. I suppose I'll just have to find it online, even if I am a week or two behind everyone else.

Yea, at the very least they'll stream it on ABC's offical site, no?

Yes there is a lot of potential with the SHIELD series.
It has tons of clout with Joss running the show. The series leads all seem interesting and of course Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson is heading things up so I am really looking forward to the premier.
I am a very long time Iron Man, Nick Fury, SHIELD fan of the comics so I'm on board.
I just hope it doesn't suffer a rating induced early death like many of my favorite shows of this type.

Let us also hope that a combination of writer's strike and the scriptwriters painting themselves into a corner from which they cannot extricate themselves (as happened with Tim Kring's wonderful show Heroes) does not happen to Agents. Heroes died a painful death, partially due to NBC and partially due to Mr. Kring, himself.

Analog is dead, of course. Even "local" affiliates are available only via cable subscription. I can easily afford it but I choose not to have it.

I don't believe there are no intentions for Costumed Heroes at least to start with

I can't speak for everywhere, of course. But in Gator Town, if you have a HDTV, or a converter box, you can pick up about five stations without cable, including ABC, CBS, and PBS. Last I checked, NBC was too far for a signal to reach.

"Costumed" being the operative word. I'm pretty sure that was Luke Cage all through that trailer. Naturally, I look forward to seeing this.

Yes. Local television stations broadcast a digital signal. All you need is a digital antenna that you can purchase at Wal Mart for like $15. Worth having one in the house if the cable goes out. At least you can watch the news. :-)

Five stations? Geez. Over here we have Freeview broadcasting hundreds of channels over the old analogue signal towers. Of course only a handful are worth anything.

Gator Town is a small city of 125K, with around 40K being UF students. Nearest larger cities are Jacksonville, Tampa, and Orlando, all about two hours away by car. Distance appears to be too great for most of the metropolitan stations to make it over the air, although both Orlando and Jacksonville stations are carried on cable.

I concur. The only other person I could think it might be would be Rage (I think that was his name), a minor character who actually made it into the Avengers some time back in the late 80s early 90s.

It probably isn't him, htough, because Luke Cage has much more name recognition.

I thought their partnership had been dissolved? *shrug* Maybe in this continuity they haven't met yet?

It'll be interesting if this series is going to be canonical to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - everything that happens in the show having to match with what's planned for the films, and vice versa.

That would make it far easier for someone like me, who only knows this universe from the films so far
(well, alright. and my short time following Thor as a child...)

I suspect so, given that the new guy thought Coulson was dead and then "welcome to level 7".

At some point, though, the Avengers themselves will find out or figure out that Coulson isn't dead. They may be upset with Fury for a little bit but they'll probably just shrug and chalk it up to him being a spy.
