We're not trying to insult anyone by any means. Remember that about two months ago I reported that the webmaster said that he, out of his own pocket and kindness, wanted to get video copies to Elohimfesters. And then other members offered to buy copies. And it's still not completely decided if the webmaster or the UMCP team has the time or resources to mail out videos to everyone who wants to buy one (or the set)-we are working towards that, but I can't guarantee it at this point. Let's just say, to use that horrible grammar they use on ESPN radio, we're "efforting".

What has SRD said to the possibility of allowing other Watchers to buy copies of the interview on DVD? Those of us on dial-up aren't going to have a very good time trying to get the interview via his website.

I will talk to the webmaster about the possibility this weekend--then perhaps he can contact SRD...

I remain interested in obtaining the video through whatever means necessary.

A week ago the webmaster told me:

The final product will probably be two DVDs, and one VHS tape. Almost exactly two hours of footage.

So that's what's going out the with the mailing but as far as what the exact download format will be on the Site I haven't found that out yet. I have inquired about the possibility of SRD's permission on the video/DVD sales. :?

Latest communique from the Webmaster:
I did tell Steve that I was going to make a DVD and VHS copy, and send them out to all the Elohimfest attendees - with the intention that they could then copy them as desired and send them to their friends (which would save ME from having to do all that myself - which I'd actually be willing to do if I wasn't so bogged down with other things). He did not specifically say "sure," but he didn't object. And on the "score card" I sent him, I had a column for "do NOT include on DVD/VHD" (with a full explanation of what that meant), and he used that column in his notetaking to specify which clips he didn't want included in that version.

I will contact him regarding the selling of it. I'm guessing that he won't have a problem with that as long as the amount charged is just enough to cover materials and shipping - I don't think he'd want anyone making a profit on it.

The web versions will likely be in MPEG. I think it's better if people download the files and view them from their computer. If it was streaming, then that would likely increase the throughput on the server quite a bit. But if they have the MPEG file on their system, they can watch it as many times as they'd like. I want to put up a low-res version of each clip for people with dial-up connections, and a high-res version for those who can support it.

I also don't think they'll go up in order. I need to put them up a few at a time to make sure I don't overload the server. And I asked Steve to score each clip in importance from 1 to 5. So I'll start with the 1s, and work my way down to the 4s. (5s will never be uploaded - but they were mostly "between question" clips, and a couple of questions that he didn't think would be relevant)

Hey gang!

Anyone know how to get hold of a copy of the trailer file from SRD's website? I would like a copy for my SRD collection.

Grimm.

I hope I'm not stepping on any toes or breaking any rules here... if Iam, please delete this.

Here's a direct link to the file:
[edit: I'm removing the link for now - if anyone else wants it, I'll seek official permission to repost it.]

Rest assured that I have nothing but the best intensions by downloading this trailer. I do not hesitate to spend money on things I want. My book and music collection is proof of that.

The webmaster said that it's okay to download and save the trailer. He's also deeply moved that someone considers it worth saving. :-)

A thousand thanks for the trailer. Love the music. Nice job.

(add edit: Sorry for "jumping the gun" and downloading it before permission was granted; I just let my enthusiasm get the best of me. )

Romeo, the link to Cinderella vs The Publishing Business gets a page saying:
Not Found
The requested URL /ed_interview7.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I have been wanting to read that. :)

You're trying to get to it from the Background / Publications page?

That filename was changed a looong time ago. Try refreshing the browser page - right-click on it, and select either Refresh or Refresh This Frame.

No, I was working from the Published Works list on the Home page, and that one still gets the error message.

But thanks for directing me to the route that works! :D
