Aw, geez, Furlsy....I can't even begin to tell you the overwhelming sense of .... well, unfairness that I'm feeling right now. First, breast CA, now this? But, I can tell you that if you had to have lymphoma, the type you have is the one to pick, with overall excellent outcomes and clinical cures achieved in over 90% of cases (I'm sure Doc Liz has already told you this.)

So, as always I'm thinking of you and your family and wishing for you a very speedy cure.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I'll be channelling the spirit of Bones McCoy to help Furls. That's all I got. Where's 23rd century medicine when you need it? Geez.

Don's professional assessment is very encouraging, but still...

To be more specific, if there is anything we who share the blessing of living in the Northwest (where God's gifts are wrapped in green) can do, please make it known (via post or PM, as you prefer) and consider it done.

For all that you have done and the example you've put forth to inspire us, it is the very least we can do.

Not to worry, Tracie. It's not fear or caution. It's a total lack of being able to figure out what to say.

Amusingly enough, I have prayed for you. Many times back when we learned about the breast cancer, and again today. I figure it can't hurt. :D Considering my non-beliefs, my first thought was to address them to "To whom it may concern." But I figured it would mean more to you if I address them to Jesus, Stephen, Isaiah (and now Alex), and God in general. I hope it helps. My belief may be lacking, but the sincerity of my love for you and desire for you to be well is not. Maybe that'll carry some weight? :D Truth is, having heard so many conflicting thoughts on the subject, I haven't the slightest idea what a prayer should be like. But I talk to them, and tell them that the world is a far better place with you in it than it would be without you. I ask them who is going to give love to the next Isaiah or Alex if you're gone. And I ask them to do something about it if they can.

Fist, it is my belief that what you are doing works.

I've only recently posted in this thread because I, too, did not know what to say. The example of Furls and her family totally surpassed my experience. You have been here a long time and know both the people and the "river bends" of this story far better than I. Do I have the right so say anything? No, clearly not.

Nevertheless...

Intent is so much more significant than details of what faith comprises. Each of us in our own way is putting out every bit of energy we can, through whichever intermediaries our flavor of faith allows us to channel that energy, to Furls, her family, and to all of us who hold her (personally or by example) dear.

Healing and love, whatever your form, go forth! Furls will beat this thing, and we, each in our own small way, will help make it so.

That's certainly how I feel about it. If any beings able to help Tracie hear me, I hope they feel the same.

Yes.

Hope my post didn't come across as being excessively facetious or callous, Furls. Comedy - even if lame - is my way of showing support. You don't want us to mope around and wring our hands over you, right? I won't.

As someone once said in a certain movie: "But you have some strength in you, my dear hobbit."

I wonder at times if you all know, I mean really know how dear to my heart you are. All of you. I came here 6 years ago and found a second family. Members of that family have come and gone and come back again. People have entered my life through here and people have gone from it. I treasure this home I have on the internet more than words can say...

That said. No Neo, the last thing I want, or ever wanted, is for people to worry over me wringing their hands together. I was determined not to even give out the info on the Lymphoma. Ah, but the forces that surround me had other ideas, and as Eric says, "you can't keep such secrets."

And, sweet mercy everyone...I don't want anything from any of you other than what you already give me, just by being who you are to me. My dear friends. I love you all so much. I know that if I asked, none of you would hesitate to give me an arm. As you know I would for you. Nothing is more important to me right now than your prayers for the strength to climb this very high hill I see looming before me. And, of course, your love. The power of love is like "no other power on earth or over it", as Stephen wrote in a poem once.

Savor Dam, welcome to Stephen's thread :D I'm so happy to see you here :) Where abouts are you up here in our corner of the world?

Don, yep, Liz told me it was a "good" one to have..heh. Hopefully, the staging will be good news, I hope we caught it before it spread to any organs. I'm symptomatic tho, so not sure how far it has progressed. And as for "fairness", ah...no one said...pardon the cliche...that life was fair. :D

Pam, Stevie...BIG HUGGLES!!! |G |G

And Eric...lack of what to say? well, as usual, you have left me without words as well. I love you. |G
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

~fly fly little wing, fly where only angels sing~

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

I understand completely, Furls.
...dysfunctional family that we are.

The domains of my two deities, Agapé, Love and O-gon-cho, Light and Healing, are headed your way.

Anything else, anything, you need or desire...
Speak up.

I love you, Mom! |G

Heidi and I will be home this weekend! We can't stand being away from you right now.

For you, Mom...

Pray God you can cope
I stand outside
This woman's work
This woman's world
Ooh it's hard on the man
Now his part is over
Now starts the craft of the father

I know you've got a little life in you left
I know you've got a lotta strength left
I know you've got a little life in you left
I know you've got a lotta strength left
I should be cryin' but I just can't let it show
I should be hopin' but I can't stop thinkin'
All the things we should've said that we never said
And all the things we should've done that we never did
All the things we should've given, but I didn't
Oh darlin', make it go
Make it go away

Give me these moments
Give them back to me
Give me your little kiss
Give me your...

(I know you've got a little life in you left)
Give me your hand baby
(I know you've got a lotta strength)
Give me that pretty hand
(I know you've got a little life in you left)
Oh sugar, I understand
(I know you've got a lotta strength left)
My lovechild
(I know you've got a little life in you left)
Whatever you need
(I know you've got a lotta strength left)
Give me your hand
(I know you've got a little life in you left)
Give me your hand
(I know you've got a lotta strength left)

Oh I should be cryin' but I just can't let it go
I should be hopin' but I can't stop thinkin'
All the things we should've said that we never said
All the things we should've done that we never did
All the things that you wanted from me
All the things that you needed from me
All the things we should've given, but I didn't
Oh darlin', make it go
Just make it go away

For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

Redmond. No, I'm not that close a neighbor. Redmond, WA. Seattle area, eastern side of Lake Washington.

The family and I spent a couple weeks camping north of La Pine at the end of last month and the beginning of this. I often looked up at the mountains to my west and north, thinking of you and yours there tending to Alex...and sending what positive energy I might.

Well, we are back from Bend, they were able to do both the CT scan and the MRI today so Trace didn't have to spend the night. They will forward it on to her Oncologist and we should know probably tomorrow or the next day what we are going to be dealing with. She's down right now, the chemicals they gave her for the scans have made her quite sick, so she's sleeping. Doesn't help that she still has the pnuemonia.

Thank you for the prayers and good wishes everyone. You all mean a great deal to her, and me too. We will meet this head on with God's help.

You're kidding. Well the next time you are over this way, give us a holler and come on up! Trace and I would love to meet you (we would love to meet everyone, actually.) La Pine isn't that far from us.
Your love amazes me.

A good night's rest and your care should clear those meds, Russ. She'll be feeling better tomorrow.

Thank you for the gracious offer. I'd love to meet all of you as well. We visit the High Desert most every summer, so when planning the next trip, I'll send you a heads-up and we'll take it from there.

As for anyone visiting the Seattle area (or who lives here), please feel free to make PM contact, as I'd like to make the acquaintance of my fellow Watchers.

And for Heaven's sake, Savor Dam, I wish you would have said something before you went to La Pine. I would have loved meeting you and your family! Which brings me to something I said a few weeks ago. I was completely serious about having everyone come up to the mountain next summer for a get together. It would be awesome! We have plenty of room for everyone. And if we run out of room, well, we'll figger it out somehow. Mountain 'Fest :D

Playing the waiting game now, could be a few days before I know anything about the staging and so forth. Thank you all for your prayers and positive energy. Beating this thing should be a snap.

Huggles all |G

You know you are in my prayers, not only for your health but for the strength to make it through the storms. And I know you are surrounded in all ways with love, and that is the most important thing of all.

Silly girl.
Let's plan on celebrating your complete recovery from this storm. Whenever that may be. :grinlove:

Even if I won't be able to get out there, I'll celebrate via what everyone else posts.
