jazfusion, I'm sure you will be great.

Null, hang in there. I know the feeling. Tomorrow will be my ninth day in a row without a day off. I am exhausted and cranky. I closed the store tonight and I didn't even walk it to make sure it was clean. I also did not put away the ink/toner. Four managers on duty before I came in at one and not only did they leave all that ink for me, they also left me all the paperwork for the day as well as not signing off on any of the cash office stuff. The audit reports are supposed to be done by an opening manager and the midshift manager does the cash office finalizing. So out of two openers and two midshifters, NOBODY did crap and they left it all for me so I said screw it and left the ink for Jeff. I'm not there to clean up after them and they can't pick and choose what they want to do and assume I'll clean up the rest.

Ok, bitching done.

Totally can relate, I have thursday/friday off, am on saturday and then sunday/monday off. Saturday will be a bit crazy because we have the office depot nascar thing going on in the parking lot and vip people visiting so like I have mentioned, it's back to basic brown for my hair. Tomorrow I work with my nemesis and I am going to do my five ponytail fauxhawk mohawk and if he says one single word to me I am going to go off on him. I think I deserve at least one final hoorah with my fiesty hair before I get all boring again. After work tonight, Vivian went with me to the walgreens to pick my shade of brown. I got as close to my natural as possible. It's also been a while since I have properly groomed my eyebrows so I will probably do that on Thursday too. I was also planning laundry but I think I will just sleep in and laze around working on my new conservative look.

Yep, a whole new boring look for me. Apparently the regional manager is a stickler for the OD dress code. Manny, my district manager didn't even bat an eyelash at the pink/orange rainbow sherbert hair but I'm sure the new guy will not be happy so that's why I am doing it. It's all good though. Once he's gone I'll start wearing my warrior native american bone choker necklace which is SOOOO not OD acceptable. We are not supposed to have any piercing, tattoos, flamboyant ethnic gear etc showing while at work. We actually have to sign an agreement at hiring to this effect. I think they know that despite that I would probably win in a lawsuit. But oh well, I'll look less red spotty with the brown hair. The pink seems to make my eyes look faded and my skin look blotchy so it's probably for the best anyway.

jenn - you need a job that allows you to wear whatever you like. i used to wear different lapel pins to work. religious, zoo, city, etc (love and collect lapel pins) someone bitched so i was told to quit. :(

used to wear my red sox hat to work as well - because it fit the color scheme and i told them the B stood for Best prisom. (LOL) well someone bitched about that.

welcome to the sarge and jenn bitch page. :)

feels good to vent doesn't it - better than tearing our coworker's heads off.

To clarify, my boss, Ashlee, store manager, couldn't care less about my hair, her underling, my nemesis, Edward will use any excuse he can to get me in trouble. Ashlee's boss, our district manager couldn't care less about my hair. His boss, our regional VP, is a stickler for dress code. SO, I can have crazy hair all I want unless we have our regional VP visiting. His higher ups that I have met don't seem to care about my hair either. It's very silly and confusing and what it boils down to is that I care about Ashlee looking good to our regional VP and if he cares about this shit then I will do what I have to to make a good impression for Ashlee. I'm picking my battles.

Yes I text but keep in mind that my apartment is a dead zone for AT&T so sometimes not until I travel a few blocks away. It's very frustrating and as soon as my contract is up I am saying BYE to them for the first time in 24 years.

A big storm rolled through last night. So I turned off all the lights and watched the show pass through for about 20 minutes.

A work crew has been set up on I-395, at the interchange my apartment overlooks, for the past two nights. Luckily we don't hear much with the windows shut. But the jackhammer sorta startled Magickmaker as she was getting ready for bed two nights ago.

I noticed Lore put up some New Mexico pictures on Facebook earlier today. 8)

never a dull moment

I got home just now and the cops come knocking. They tell me to get blankets and get into the basement for the next 30 minutes, that a tornado is due to touch down here. Well, ah.........I don't have a basement. 8O So I am wrapping helldog around me and going to go sit in a bathtub. Good excuse to finally give the dog a bath.

So anyway, if you don't hear from me in the next day, send someone to dig Helldog and me out.

Since I saw lorin post elsewhere on the Watch about 90 minutes after the post above, I assume she and Helldog survived the twister.

A little unusual for the cops to come knocking for a tornado warning. Here the fire department just blasts the sirens.

You work rebels! My co-worker/boss is out until next Wednesday, on which day we have a big meeting in the afternoon with the president of a company who's flying into town for the occasion. Well, Jeff asked me to wear a jacket and tie for the day (I don't normally do so). I had to laugh. Like I don't know to dress up when big wigs show up.

The part that's irritating about the meeting though is that it's scheduled from 3 - 5pm. Normally I wouldn't much care about that except that it's the night I'm to be in Milwaukee to see Peter Gabriel at 8. An hour-twenty home from work and an hour to Milwaukee from there doesn't leave a lot of room for error. There are a couple of other participants who should be at the meeting who are quite capable of dragging things out with silly questions if given the chance. Hopefully, they don't.

The benefits of living in a tiny town and next door to the police chief.

So obviously I survived. The sirens went off and I had to peel helldog off the ceiling. But I was unscathed. Part of me was hoping the tornado would touch down right on top of my house. It would solve the problems of the house not selling. Not part of me actually, the whole of me hoped for this house going out with a bang......or a boom.
