WE HAVE IT! I have Runes on my desk right now. Oh happy day! Now I need to be left alone long enough to read it.

I hear you. I got my copy today, (in the second bookstore I went to, because the first hadn't gotten in their shipment yet) but spent the whole day running errands, so haven't even opened up the cover. In ten minutes I have to leave for work.

And I'm afraid to take it to work, because I know I won't be doing my work properly if I do.
Looks like I won't be able to start until tomorrow morning on the train.

Hopefully Damelon will have some of it read by the time I see him, so I can have someone to talk to about it and to do a happy dance with.

I got mine today! We're tight with our UPS guy. I get home for lunch the same time he gets to my house. He just handed me the amazon box and said "I'm assuming this is for you."

Bah. I hate you all.
The best answer I can get atm re. arrival, is, "sometime in November - if we're lucky".
Sulking, now.

To all who were chosen to have it - Congrats! I went to Barnes & Noble and B Dalton at lunch and neither had it. Worse, they couldn't even tell me when they will. I live in the 4th largest city so i'm disapponted.

B&N couldn't help me either, StarRider. I got it at the Media Play down the road. Yet the Media Play 30 miles away couldn't give any answer. They had it in their computer as $242.00, and no idea when it would be in.

It's HERE!!! I actually cried when I saw it. All I could think about as I was looking at it for the first time was how much Stephen and Isaiah would have loved to have seen it too. After all these years, and after such a long year in waiting, it's finally here. I've never felt this way about a book before.
It's soooo awesome!! I'm probably going to pull an all nighter tonight!!!

I've changed my mind. I love you all dearly.
Not sulking anymore. Bird & Bear is mailing me a copy tomorrow, and if there's any hitch there, Creator has also offered.
You guys are the best!

Thinking about Stephen and Isaiah puts Runes in perspective for me as well, Furls. I wish they could have seen it too. It makes me feel humble and grateful to be here and alive, and be able to partake in a grand adventure by one of the best storytellers of our times...that can then be shared here at the best community on the 'net.
By the way, for those reading this who don't know the story of Stephen and Isaiah, I highly recommend you check out the Stephen C. McKinney Memorial Thread in The Hall Of Gifts forum. It's one of the great, great threads at the Watch.

Eep. Correction. It's actually
Fist & Faith who's sending me a copy. I was so excited, I got all flustered & typed the wrong name.

Sorry.

I'm not too worried about it. My reading speed has the drawback that no matter how much I love a book, I finish it pretty much as soon as I get it, so I try and stack up a supply of new ones, so I'm entertained for a while. The only way I can keep up the anticipation is by not buying it.
I'll add Runes to the DT books I'm missing, and guarantee myself nearly a solid week of new and excellent books, before I start re-reading again.
Hmm...

6 DAYS!
Book, books all over the place - get your's while they're hot!
I suppose I thought that Runes would be like a George Lucas DVD or a JK Rowling book - no one would put it out until the official release date, for fear of bodily harm.
But I'm gonna keep my countdown going, if only because it irritates the hell out of Darth. Everyone else - bear with me.

Has anyone else had this experience?
I started reading Runes, thinking I'd just read a little bit before I went to sleep. After awhile, I looked up -- and realized it was after midnight and I'd been reading for quite awhile!
I guess Time passes differently in the Land...

I know exactly what you mean - I pulled a marathon session to finish it earlier in the week - I started on page about 400 and finished it at 3 in the morning (I read really slowly - savouring every page) I couldn't believe it had got that late.
