That was exactly my thought!
...but I refrained from posting it.

Not to mention, you do have a track record of pushing yourself a bit too hard, Furls...

Huggles SoulBiter! |G

My brother Matthew (who has decided he has the obligation to be the head of the McKinney family now that Dad has passed on) is driving me nuts! He's making me crazy! Talk about bossy! Russ, Anna, Chris and Julie are bossy too, but Matt! He puts them all to shame! I'm about ready to slug him!

How Stephen ever kept his cool when Matt would jump on him is beyond me!

Okay...done now :?

I must say it's nice to see your name back on the forum Furls!

This could be a huge battle: Matthew vs Tracie, I mean.

Even with her on the DL, I am betting on Tracie in that matchup.

Well, if Matt's being bossy about Tracie taking it easy so she can recover, then she's fighting the good advice of at least six, and probably a lot more, people!

I have a feeling that if Matthew wins, Tracie will win in the long run in terms of experiencing that which is for her own good. ;)

Make no mistake, I am solidly in the "baby steps" camp when it comes to Tracie pacing herself through this and subsequent phases of recovery.

However, in the realm of sibling tests of determination & will -- be it mild competitive rivalry or all-out "Sible War"-- put your money on the lady or be ready to lose. The word is that she's got depths of tenacity she hasn't touched yet.

Hey, I did say "if" Matthew wins, not "when". I have no doubts about Tracie's tenacity.

Fair enough, Owlie. I surely didn't intend to make this a point of contention. We're all on the same side here!

Hopefully, Tracie will both see the virtue of moderation in her self-pushing and prevail over Matt in the "You're not the boss of me" sweepstakes.

I'm definitely voting for that one!

Aw..thanks everyone :D I know all this is to keep me from doing too much too soon. And honestly, I can't anyway. I know it's all out of love. Matt and I have always bucked heads. Even tho he is about a year and half younger than I am, he has always been my "big brother". I love the big lug, he's our protector, he's the one that jumped in front of the bullies, he's the one that rescued Julie from an abusive boyfriend, he's the one that physically pulled Chris out of a fight with 3 guys twice his size, and he was the first one that rushed to Stephen's side after the drunk driver hit him; the one that would always hold Stephen up when he couldn't stand by himself.

He's also the one that held us all together when Stephen passed and when Dad passed. He is the McKinney "rock". I'm happy he's here, and I will miss him, Chris and Julie when they leave. Which will be tomorrow. I will also miss Brooke, Heidi and Myles...they are going back to school this weekend. Slowly, things are moving toward "normal". We really don't have "normal" here, but at least the sun is shining a bit brighter and the air isn't as heavy. And my husband is smiling again. :D

So no worries all. I'm not doing anything I'm not supposed too. "Baby steps" is all I can handle. :D

Anna will be leaving on the 30th, her leave at the hospital in Phoenix is over Oct 3rd. I am eternally grateful to her for all her help during this crisis. She is very dear to me.
