Yeah, he told me. It's difficult to blame the guy who hasn't slept in a couple days because his life-long love has been in a coma if he gets a bit riled up when she codes and they kick him out of the room.

Oh gosh, no one blames him at all. In fact, everyone down there knows Mom so well, and Dad too, because of the work they do. The last thing they wanted to do was upset him, so when he lost it, they were nothing but sympathic. He feels bad for doing it, but they all understand completely.

Mom is wide awake today! :D :D She's talking and making sense, Dad says. Which is good. She's already wanting to come home, which is another good sign. Her kidney function tho still isn't good. So, she has to stay for awhile yet. They may be able to move her from CCU soon, but her heart rate is wacky again, and they can't move her anyway until gains complete kidney function. And the sepsis is being stubborn, she's still running a low grade temp.

Going to head down that way soon, I will give her everyone's love. :)

Do. And maybe it's a good idea for her to stay a bit longer, however much she will hate it.

Uh, yeah, not my finest hour there. If she was going to go, there was no way I wasn't going to be in there with her. Thank God they were able to bring her back to me, us.

So, I'm home for a bit. Trace is doing okay, stable for the most part. Her kidneys are almost fully functional, but her heart, well, it looks like it's been damaged with all the shocking and stopping and sepsis. We may have to go to a specialist in Portland in a few weeks to discuss options with her heart.

It amazes how things can just fall apart so fast. But she knew, she kept dreaming of storms. She kept saying to me, "Russ, life is going to get very difficult soon, I know it is." My sweet baby. Of all people. Yeah, well. I'll shut up now.

Thanks to all of you, your prayers, your support, as Matt says, are very much appreciated more than words can say. On behalf of Tracie, me and all of our family I thank you all.

Oy. I seem to have worded that badly. I should have said:

Absolutely! I'd have done the same thing. :D

Anyway, glad you're back, Tracie!! :D :D :D |G

I just talked to Mom on the phone, and she said to tell all of you how much she loves you and how much your prayers mean to her.

And she sent these:

Ah Tracie, I know you know I don't believe in god, and you've probably figured that I don't much go for the idea of anything in life being fair either, but you're one of the few people in all the world who makes me think I might be wrong, so I'm glad to hear the good news.

All my love you and yours darl. |G

Doesn't make me think I might be wrong, but alternatively makes me hope that at least there is some justice, and, when things like this happen to people like Furls, suspect there isn't. ;)

Good Neverness quote:
Why should man seek justice in a universe which is manifestly unjust? Are we so insignificant and vain that we cannot look upon the raw, naked face of randomness without praying it will smile upon us merely because we have been righteous and good?

Well, I was told today that Tracie is already back to complaining, and trying to go home. Tracie, first you have to get out of the CCU. Baby steps, eh? :D

Hey all,

Well, looks like she's going in the hospital for awhile. Her kidney function still isn't good, the sepsis is hanging on to her and her heart rate is very eractic. She didn't want to spend her birthday there, but it looks like she will have too. Doesn't even look like she will be out of CCU anytime soon. She's been very lethargic today, can't seem to stay awake for too long.

I'll be sure to pass on to her all of your well wishes and prayers. I'm home for a little while to shower and change clothes, then I'm going back. I don't want to be away from her too long.

Thanks again all, your support means the world to all of us.
