Thanks you guys. I am really appreciating the strength I draw from the love of my friends here on the watch. It is seriously helping me to be strong for BGB through this. However, you guys all know that if anything happens to Moose you need to all get together and plan a 24 hour, 3 month watch on me to make sure I don't escape and jump off the Golden Gate bridge. Seriously. I don't even know how i will ever be able to cope with that.

So sorry to hear about Millie. I don't have any dogs right now, but when I did... I liked my dogs more than I liked most people. It is always too soon to see them off.

Best wishes.

I decorated her grave with flowers and personal art and a journey candle to light her way and we said words over her at about seven and it's been heavily misting and windy and it's now quarter past ten and her journey candle is still burning despite the heavy mist and wind.

A large storm went through yesterday and knocked out power to some 800,000 in the area, with estimates that it could take up to 5 days to get everyone back online. My power came back on by the time I got home from work, but my sister has none and I had a call from my mom's place that they had none either. So I picked mom up yesterday and brought her home for a few hours in the evening and made her dinner, and will do the same tonight if they are still in the dark.

Pretty much meh at the moment. It's school hols here. SoS is home and driving me bananas. Sometimes I just don't feel like playing lego!!! We went up to see my parents last week. I haven't been up there for...erm...15 years. Doesn't exactly bring back good memories, but SoS enjoyed it; and there were a couple of things I enjoyed. School is back on next week so hopefully things will get back to normal--and I'll start being nice to my colon again which is driving me bonkers at the moment but I'm sure the chocolate and alcohol and all that other stuff isn't helping it!

Sick with a cold. :( Spent all night tossing and turning and coughing. Can't wait to see whether I can stay awake at work today. Good thing I finished that behemoth bill yesterday....

I'd whine about the hot weather we're having, too, but it's supposed to break a little bit after today.

I was very worried when I saw at the top of this page something about pet loss and your name involved. I know how you love Moose, and I feared the worst. Not that it makes it any better though. Hugs to BGB, you and Moosey-Woosey.

Just had 18 hours without a water supply. Major mains pipe burst, and half of the town had no water. Fixed now, thankfully.
Just goes to show how much I take having running water for granted. Even going to the toilet is a nightmare without water to flush or wash my hands.
No shower before work today either - felt eeeeuuuuugh all day.

I was just saying today is that the worst thing about a power outage is the toilet being out. No municipal supply for me, I'm on well and septic.

Power's back on for mom, so all is well there. It was a real nice day today. Sunny, pleasant. A respite before the weekend, when it is supposed to be hot and muggy.

work sucked. three call-ins. one for first shift. two for my shift. so i had a huge meal and just on c/o. and that c/o had been working in laundry. he was in the kitchen before and has been forced to work with us. he isn't much help because he is so unhappy. and i am being careful around him because i want his boss to maybe hire me.

Day 4 of the cold from hell. Saturday night was a tickle in my throat; Sunday was the "I think I'm coming down with something" day; Monday, I sounded fine unless someone made me laugh, and then I sounded like a two-pack-a-day smoker. Tuesday night, I was up every hour or so, coughing. Last night was a little better -- I think I managed to get to sleep in two-hour shifts between coughing bouts. :( Hate. Being. Sick.

I broke the shit out of my pinky toe last night. It's very annoying. I noticed this morning that the joint is black on the side and botton and it's quite swollen.

Haven't got time for an xray. Should I make time? Anyone got experience with this? I'm assuming all they'll do is tape him to his neighbor.

Harbinger, I think that's what they'll do, yeah. You probably should get it looked at, tho.

lorin and Sarge, thanks for the sympathy. Ah, codeine-laced cough syrup, just like Mom used to give me -- I wonder if you can get that over the counter these days? Probably not. Guess I'll have to settle for tea. :( (I told Magickmaker last night that I might call in sick today, and she said, "Oh goody," in that tone of voice that means, "Tell me you're joking.")
