Tired out, I am. Yesterday was the hottest day this summer.
HR sought me out urging me to use up my holiday time. Only a few weeks left before they vanish.

happy days

Use 'em while you got 'em. I've taken a few days mid-August myself, looking forward to it.

In other news...Monday...

So my Monday began with medical news I didn't want to hear. Been waiting all weekend to find out. Sunday morning I thought my head would explode. I went to church with Stag and Fawn of the dawn and it totally got my mind off of my little world and gave me peace.

Still, I do face possible surgery-- ok, make that inevitable surgery unless I am an idiot-- but I will be asking if it can wait until NOT the first week of school. Those first few days are sooooo important to set the tone of the class. From what I know, I should be able to wait it at least until December.

Well, I don't want to be one of THOSE people who talk at length about their medical conditions! :D (My Mom, who lived with cancer the last 5 years of her life, never talked about it unless asked, and then she gave the Cliff Notes version. I want to be her. But not with the cancer she had.)

To continue your convo above, several years ago I had so much pain I considered getting a cane. But there was a point when I decided, f#$% that 5#!% and I got serious about losing weight, exercise, and yoga, and it really helped. I won't be THAT person on the scooter in WalMart for at least a few more years. :D

You and I obviously have differing opinions on that. I believe to hold everything in and not share impedes one's healing process. But, each must choose to do what makes them comfortable.

Love and Light to you, deer! And if you are willing to share your mother's first name, so I can have you added to my mishaberach list as <your real first name, which I believe I know> bas <your mother's first name>, I would be happy to do so.

In the meantime, here is the general mishaberach prayer with images for various faiths. May it bring you peace and comfort while you wait.

Touchscreens! I just can't get the hang of them.
We use them to book time off. Plus, navigating those options menus... ugh!
Will give it another go tomorrow.

Even on my way home buying bread in Tescos, I have to tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap just to get a single thing done.

Yes, wishing you the best possible outcome.

I keep having vivid and realistic dreams that basically put the week on fast-forward, and I wake up confused about what day it actually is. And disappointed when I figure it out.

It's certainly been a week for robotics.

Supposed to be working today with one of the newly installed robots but the brainiacs couldn't get the thing to wake up. Something to do with the weight of the totes, I think. It worked fine lifting empty ones but went into a strop when they were filled with goods.
The H&S manager told me that yesterday it picked up a tote and for some unforseen reason smashed it to pieces on the concrete floor!
It's no wonder they're kept in cages like wild and dangerous animals.

Mid week, while passing the cinema where I live, a bloody great big robot, easily 7 1/2 foot tall, was singing and dancing for a small crowd.
It also played the fool, cracking jokes just like Jim Carey.
I thought it was a Transformer robot but when I checked the cinema listings I'd say it was probably a publicity gimmick for Toy Story.

This is how you end up with Cylons. I do not approve.

Monday today. Meh.

Still, on the other hand, a short week with Friday a public holiday. (Women's Day) and then I've taken some leave, so only back at work the next Friday.

I shall probably waste it playing games... :D
