...Never really got into Floyd myself--nothing against them, just not my cup of tea.

I did like their song Take it Back from about ten years ago.

I was wondering though, is the whole Wall being played with the Wizard of Oz thing is true---or is it Dark side of the moon; I'm not sure, but does it really line up? Or is it more of a coincidence/urban myth.

Dark Side of the Moon...

And it works for side one, as long as you can start it at the exact moment it's supposed to start.

Heh--this IS pretty cool; and it must have been hard to do...so you've tried it have you?

does it work better if you're on 'cids?

Well I heard that if you play a certain Floyd album (I thought is was the Wall..but Menolly corrected me) and watch WOZ (with the sound off) the music will fit with the pictures.

Yeah, the synchronization rumor has been around for a long while now. Think it's more coincidence than anything. Other albums seem to do it too; The Flaming Lips album At War with the Mystics fits pretty will with the 1992 film Baraka.

Yeah, it's Dark Side. I did it in math class last year, it was pretty weird.

The Dark Side of Oz

And Drew, the answer to your spoiler is of course! But it's not necessary. Just be sure if you do, it's set-up ahead of time, so you don't mess things up.

Or as Paul would say:
Spoiler
"Hell, watching the 12:00 blink is cool when you're on 'cids!"

Back to Gilmour for a second: I highly recommend the song "Is Your Love Strong Enough?" that he recorded with Bryan Ferry. I just downloaded it, and it is fantastic.

Holy smoke, I didn't think anyone else had heard that! It's on the Legend soundtrack (which is worth buying...good stuff).

'ol Dave did a lot of session playing in the '80s with the likes of Pete Townsend, Roy Harper, Paul McCartney, and a bunch of others.

I bet those other songs are great too. "Is Your Love Strong Enough?" is such a great song. I am a huge Ferry fan, and Gilmour apparently worked well with him. I'm pretty sure Gilmour also appeared on Ferry's album Bete Noire.

Dave has a connection to Kate Bush as well.
