Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond

One of those books that always looked interesting, but I'd never gotten around to reading. It is quite interesting.

Sorus- That's one deer's read, I remember!

I'm reading "The Pursuit of God," by A.W. Tozer.
:swoon:

This is a book I attempted a few years back, thought "That would be a good anti-idolatrant," but I shrank away from!
I have an idea for a funny "Anti-Recommendation" I'd like to write for it, but... I just can't do it.

Currently reading a book on how to do Improv!
"Truth in Comedy: A Manual for Improvisation" by Charna Halpern and Del Close

I have been experimenting with using the ideas from the book in how I respond to the pretend-play games initiated by the 8-year-old-and-under crowd at the little church plant I go to.
Turns out that ever-popular games like "Put Ms. Linna in JAIL!" and "I throw fire on you!" are vastly improved by certain kinds of response outta me.
It's AMAZING.

Just saw this awhile after you posted.
It's perfect.
Because of them, I better understand what comedians mean when they say "tough crowd tonight; tough crowd."

Back to books... I ordered an old book:
"Foundations for Reconstruction," by Elton Trueblood.
Published in 1946.

I also have out "Zen and the Art of Writing," by Bradbury.

The Great Influenza: The Story of the Deadliest Pandemic in History by John M. Barry.

Probably not the best choice of reading material during the middle of a bad flu season, but it's very interesting.
