Terrible movie. I just cannot fathom how someone can make a movie this bad!

Heh i watched it. Cheesy but better than i expected. My main problem was every character seemed like a carboard cut-out, other than eragon and brom.

I barely even remember the other people names.
Some of the lines were terrible, so bad.
God the word 'urgols', is a horrible word, as is galbatorix and alegasia (sp?), it seems like he was thinking ''Oh rubbish unpronouncable names will make this seem like a fnatasy land''

Admittley that more whats wrong with the book but hey, the move was still average at best.

The only major problem I had with the movie was that they rushed the first half of the movie, hardly bothering with character development and killing any chance of understanding the passage of time. What really ticked me off about it was that the movie was only an hour and a half long.

I saw it, & I've read both books. I thought some of the casting was great (John Malkovich is good value in ANYTHING tho, so are Robert Carlyle & Jeremy Irons), the kid who played Eragon did well, but it was the DRAGON who kept me interested in staying til the end. As a baby, she was SO adorable! Props to Weta again!

The problem with this film was they were trying SO HARD not to make it look like Lord of the Rings that they completely failed. If they'd just followed the book (which is of course a shameless ripoff? tribute? to LOTR) it might have been more successful. SO many plotholes...

I actually liked Paolini's second book "Eldest" better. Here's hoping they improve the film version of it to keep in line with his more 'mature' style.
