If you go to jkrowling.com, click on the eraser and you will be taken to a room you'll see a window, a door and a mirror. In the mirror, you'll see a hallway. Click on the farthest doorknob and look for the Christmas tree. They click on the center of the door next to the mirror and a wreath appears. Then click on the top of the mirror and you'll see a garland. Look for a cobweb next to the door. Click on it, and it will disappear. Now, look at the chimes in the window. Click on the second chime to the right, and hold it down. The chime will turn into the key, which opens the door. Click on the wrapped gift behind the door, then click on it again and figure out the title yourself by playing a game of hangman.
I couldn't get past the "farthest doorknob" part.
I just did the whole thing. Not sure exactly where you are stuck. Click on the doorknob of the leftmost door that is IN the mirror. Then click in the middle of the big door NOT in the mirror, about 1/3 of the way down from the top. Help?

BTW, turn on the sound.

Ok, for some reason this is partially working for me today, but now I can't get past the chime turning into a key part. The chime changes color but the door won't open.

deathly
Main Entry: death·ly
Pronunciation: 'deth-lE
Function: adjective
1 : FATAL
2 : of, relating to, or suggestive of death <a deathly pallor>
- deathly adverb

And According to wikipedia, the "hallows" in All Hallows Eve and All Hallows Day means "saints".

deathly = fatal
Hallows = dead saints = ghosts = revenants

The Fatal Revenants?

Cor!
So, HP7 is TCTC 8, and JKR is collaborating with SRD? ;)

Spoiler
You just need to click on the second chime from the right. It changes color - this is actually because it is now a key, seen on edge. Simply now drag the key to the keyhole. So you are actually clicking on the chime twice - click and release to change it into a key, click and drag to move it to the keyhole.

Thanks, I don't know what the problem is, perhaps it's user error, but the key doesn't drag for me. And now a message in the mirror says "Peeves woz ere"

So...

Who's going to forward WF's post on to SRD?

Wads, Watchy nominations for best posts are still open I think... :::hint, hint:::

I have had an insight

what if "the deathly hallows" refers to a spell of some sort

Maybe the last horcrux needs to be hallowed in order to be destroyed

However, as with the spell that protected Harry from AVADA KEDAVRA, a life needs to be sacrificed.

And Harry has to do it...

Although, It could also refer to the place where Sirius black went... beyond the veil....

This is all conjecture...

I don't care what the book is called, I just want to get my dirty little hands on a copy of it as soon as possible.

I've often wondered what would have happened if JKR died untimely and suddenly. Thankfully it seems that will not be the case.

We'll get to see the end, and I rate her highly enough that I think it will be stunning.

Stephen King had the same question posed to him whikle he was writing the Dark Tower Series. Infact he had the reverse of the equation happen. A death row inmate wrote him to tell him that he had an "x" amount of time left, and would he please finish the books or tell him what happens before his date arrived! Imagine THAT if you will!

Didn't Peter Jackson give a dying child an early screening of ROTK, in case he didn't make it until the opening day? Or is that an urban legend?

No urban legentd Wayfriend, it was in the news here. The kid was apromising film director, in Jackson's eyes, and Jackson had taken him under his wing if you will.

Oh, you mean Cameron Duncan, who was the inspiration for Into the West, and was featured on the ROTK EE. I guess I never realized the story I mentioned was the same person as Duncan.

For some reason I think of 'hallows' as an alternative for 'gallows' - ie where someone is hung. I can't find that meaning on the 'net though! When I first read about the Rowlings site, it made sense that it was a game of hangman that revealed the title.

I didn't even think of that, and now it's too late!! :'(

I'm sorry Wayfriend! You're a winner in my eyes, though! :P

Hmmm...

Maybe we can adapt the rule of the Watchys, and be able to nominate posts made from the time nominations opened the previous year?

I found this in my inbox today.

[edit]That was a mistake. The person in question had ample opportunity to post this on a website if they wanted it posted on a website. Posting it here makes me seem rude in my own eyes. So I'm taking it down.[/edit]

I passed on the little tidbit about Deathly Hallows/Fatal Revenant in the GI. I got back a personal response rather than a posted answer. It said, essentially, <grin>. My [edit] in my earlier response explains it from there.
