Personally, I'd want to see them even if they just did the hits, because "Roxanne" is worht it to me. But, I would love to hear "Mother", "Murder By Numbers", "Invisible Sun", "O My God", "Rehumanize Yourself".....

Gotta say, I was impressed. They looked like The Police, they sounded like The Police.

meh. i thought they might have wanted to take the key down a bit so sting-daddy could get those notes. heh. mix didn't sound all that good to me as compared to the mix on other live numbers on the show.
they looked to be having a good time but... freakin Roxanne. bleh. wish they'd chosen something else to do.

See, I think you should be happy about seeing the Police, not so damn critical. Roxanne is a great song, and music is supposed to be a celebration of life, and here you two are dragging the whole experience down. I for one am glad they got together and played again.

dAN! You've got the right spirit here.
I was guilty of a lot of negativity myself in my earlier post. I did catch the Police on the show, and I was glad to see them again.
Luci, I see what you're saying about them taking the key down a step. But that's kind of...tangential to the plot.
And to defend their choice of song some more...this year is supposed to mark the 30th anniversary of Roxanne's appearance on North American charts, right? So in that sense it was a fitting song to do.
Also, I'm not sure that it's fair to expect the band to perform something weird. The Police aren't an experimental prog rock troupe. They were a smooth and sexy (yes, can I say sexy?) hit singles machine.

ok
i guess it's apparent i'm not as enamoured of them as i once was.
they did a fine performance and looked like they were having a good time and that's really what matters, i think. that THEY enjoy it again. that's a good thing.

Don't get me wrong daN...it is better to have loved than to never have loved at all. I wish I HAD seen it....I missed the first couple of minutes... ;(
was just disappointed in the choice of song...I imagine I'll see it and be thrilled.

Did anyone expect them not to play "Roxanne"?

They shouldn't have, this being the 30th anniversary and all.
