Hmmm... I wonder if there's something we might want to think about doing at Elohimfest in order to celebrate LFB's 30th....

Make a cake?

Bow down in synchronized obeisance and say "Hail!" ?

Okay, but seriously, any ideas?

Unless he examines your luggage, he won't know it's gone until it's too late.

Laptops must be carried with you, do you have a bag for it? I'm sure Paul does. Screening does not damage the laptop, in fact it has to be screened seperately from other carry on items.

As to locking your luggage, don't worry, after the inspectors search your luggage, they'll lock it with a plastic lock.

Thanks Don. I thought I had to carry on the laptop.

We do have a bag we use to carry it. It's not specifically a laptop bag, but it works. So, Paul will see it as we load and unload the van for the drive to the airport.

You really DON'T want to check a laptop, no matter how well-cocooned it is inside your luggage. They are too fragile, and luggage gets dinged a lot in normal handling.

This IT guy says, be kind to your laptop, and don't let it out of your sight, not even for a minute. I know I'm paranoid, but I always send my laptop last through the machine when I am about to walk through the security screen, so I can keep an eye on it.

Agree with DW, my laptop stays with me, and I watch the whole screening process like a hawk.

Thanks all.

As a woman, whose only two carry-on items will be her purse and the laptop (I hope!), I guess those two items will have to go into the screening tub together.

If I loose my purse, I'm screwed. If I loose the laptop, I don't know if I dare to return home...

Looks like Vardeman has just agreed to participate. I'm calling the Cooperage (the great steakhouse/salad bar next door to the Barcelona Suites) restaurant today to see if they can accommidate us-they do have banquet facilities-I'm still unsure of a quite space for the interview, right now...actually, maybe the Barcelona Suite can rent us a reception room for that...

danlo, now, as a woman, this information is very important to me...

Can I dress to the nines (as much as I ever dress to the nines) for Saturday night? Or would I be too much out of place if I do?

At least MagickMaker has a dress left over from prom. Wait, she's not going to dinner with us! Maybe I can borrow it!

I meant Danlo's comment about a tux. But hey, if the spiky-heeled sandal fits....

Seriously, Menolly, it doesn't matter to me. I've got some presentable-for-fancy-wear duds. Just need to know whether to pack 'em.
