Well, I would agree with Brinn and Danlo in that it certainly wasn't a deep movie that will make you think for days/weeks after you have seen it. But it was a lot of fun. :)

Did anyone else notice Mr Depp's striking resemblence to a certain pirate of Spiced Rum fame?

Yep, it's on my most favourite-est movie list.

It even merited a mention in my signature. :)

Didn't get to see Pirates until I bought the dvd. The moment I saw Capt. Jack Sparrow smoothly step of the crows nest of his sinking boat on to the pier, I knew I'd love this film. I've been to Disney so many times and rode the ride its not funny. Loved it.

Love the ride; hate the stupid actor starring in film. What's his name? Johnny Deppressing?

Sounds a lot like someone who hasn't seen the film and isn't going to. Thats okay. I have it if you want to borrow it. :-)

^5, SS. Pirates is the reason why I go to anything Disney... also one of the reasons I like Land better than World.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I loved Pirates, mostly. Sure, it was lightweight, but it was a really good lightweight film. And even those don't grow on trees.

dAn, why don't you like Johnny Depp? Should he take on a lighter role?

Is this what you are getting at?
