UrThor: "Gaping". Not "Cavernous".

Really? I think making them more upright makes them look more intellegent, whereas drawing them as simian would diminish it. Part of what seperates Ur-Viles from the classical fantasy baddies is their keen intellect and Lore that not only rivals, but in many ways surpasses that of the Lords.Xar wrote:That's a rather good picture!Personally, I imagine Ur-viles with a more simian posture - probably longer arms, gangly limbs (for example, I do not imagine their biceps showing, even if they have them). Because of the simian posture (after all, they run on all fours), I also imagine them somewhat hunchbacked.
Incidentally, if you don't mind a comment, the nostrils tend to register as eyes in the picture, probably due to their shape and/or positioning (because they are in relief when compared to the upper head, they seem to have "eyebrows"...)
Wasn't Vain described as being more like a human male, except that he was completely jet black?Cameraman Jenn wrote:Pretty cool UrThor. I would be interested in your visual interpretation of Nom as well as the urviles.
Jet black skin, teeth, gums, eyes, hair. Perfect physical form.Caesar wrote:Wasn't Vain described as being more like a human male, except that he was completely jet black?Cameraman Jenn wrote:Pretty cool UrThor. I would be interested in your visual interpretation of Nom as well as the urviles.
Yes, but Vain was not a typical Ur-vile... in fact, if I remember correctly, he also had eyes, and there was no mention of "gaping nostrils" anywhere in his description. Differently from standard ur-viles, Vain looked like a human being, didn't he?Emotional Leper wrote:Jet black skin, teeth, gums, eyes, hair. Yes, I meant to include that. Sorry. I'm not allowed to discuss details, but he did appear to be human, aside from the jet black skin, jet black teeth, jet black gums, eyes, hair. I don't recall him having facial hair, though.Xar wrote:Yes, but Vain was not a typical Ur-vile... in fact, if I remember correctly, he also had eyes, and there was no mention of "gaping nostrils" anywhere in his description.
