Well, I was discussing SRD and TCTC at another forum, and a lot of people there were putting down TCTC, they said it was just a cheap rip-off of Tolkien. I thought that SRD used many elements that were similar to LOTR, but he used them very differently. I also thought that probably some of his sources were similar to Tolkien's sources (e.g., the German ring epic).

I went on Google and tried to find out some info about SRD and the chronicles, to back up my point of view in that discussion. I came up with an old interview with SRD, and links to The Land, and Kevin's Watch, both of which had links to the old ezboard Kevin's Watch forum. I joined the forum, and the rest is history. ;)

Glad I made it over. :D

After I found the "Man who...." novels I did a search for Stephen Donaldson to see if he had written anything else I wanted to know about. By some turns and twists I then ended up here.

Leper Fairy,
I was wondering if anyone would try it without the rhythm. I couldn't figure out a way to easily show that. :?: Anyway, it's the violin/viola intro to the 4th movement of Bach's Cantata 140, Wachet auf. 8) That sounds a LOT more obscure to some of you than it really is. Most everyone's heard it somewhere or other.

Sylvanus spent so much time here and then he left to go over seas. I came here to read his post and it made me feel closer to him. He said we could chat here also if I signed up and everyone else seemed so nice I thought I would give it a try. You guys are great and I'm glad I joined.

Like so many of you, I was hungry for news about the Last Chronicles and ran a google search and viola. I've never spent more than a day or so on any discussion board so I hope this lasts. So far its been addictive.

I was at work (when I was a temp), and was on an assignment where the boss didn't really care what we did with our time, so I was browsing the net in search of anything interesting. There was nothing. Then I decided it might work better if I were to search for something specific, and the thing that popped to mind for no apparent reason was the chronicles, which I had read a couple of years earlier. Hence I was led into the welcoming arms of Kevin's Watch. It took me a couple of days to make myself look at the message board - not knowing what a message board was - and when I did, my first few posts were difficult. In those days, there was a low membership, and it was possible to go weeks without anyone visiting the board. I happened to arrive at just such a time  However, when people did show up, I was made welcome. I was treated as an equal member even though I was new, I remember Skyweir and Danlo were two of the first to address me directly. Also Juntel, I think. Those were the days...

I am on a very similar forum (in design if not concept or topic) that deals with martial arts (MartialTalk.com) and on it I quoted the Oath Of Peace when a question arose about when is enough enough in fighting an attacker.
One of the other members recognized the Oath and asked me if that was the one the armies of the Land used...he couldn't remember the name of the Warward.
I not having my books with me at the time I did a quick search and found the site and thus was lead to the discussion board. I've encouraged my friend on the MA site to come join... hmm still don't see him yet. Ah well.

There was a link on my favourite Pr0n site that led here ;) Just kidding. I was searching the net for Donaldson info and came across this site. I posted anonymously here for a while (I was Lepers Anonymous) before signing on.
