You beat me to it!
One that comes to mind: Dracula, Dead and Loving it. One of the unfunniest comedies ever.

Ugh...The Perfect Storm...
the most boring film ever made, except perhaps Citizen Kane.

WHAT??!!!
well there is certainly no accounting for taste...

Are either of you fans of the BBC series Hustle? A friend once described Hustle as "a less smug version of Ocean's Eleven", and he has a point.

i have heard Hustle is really good, but don't get it here.
However, as another word on Ocean's 11 -- it is a wonderfully fun caper movie, that takes the atmosphere and 'smug' characters of the original, and makes them better (however the ending of the original was priceless!).
If you don't like the 'smug' yet fun loving characters, fine. But please don't tel me it is a 'bad' movie...

i won't tell you.
Erin Brockovich
Pretty Woman
julia roberts statement movies that miss the mark.

Neither Pretty Woman nor Erin Brokovich are bad movies in the sense that we're talking about.
Alone in the Dark is a bad movie. Superman IV is a bad movie. PW and EB are silly fluff and poorly executed message films respectively, but bad? Nahhh.
Battle Beyond the Stars and Starcrash (both of which I saw in the theater) were bad.

Oh come on! Battle Beyond the Stars was awesome!
Message from Space was bad. Laserblast was bad.

Okay. Battle Beyond the Stars was bad. I admit it.

The Last Legion.
I feel like breaking my hands so I never have to type that name again. It was that bad.

Liar Liar with Jim Carey. Ugh. I turned it off after the first ten minutes. Troy with Brad Pitt. I actually paid to see it in a theater and during the last part of the film I turned to my friend Terry and begged for someone to PLEASE make Brad Pitt STOP CRYING! I want those three hours of my life back. Ugh.

Is "The Sting" any different? Heist movies are just good fun. The sequels were pretty bad, but the original was, I think, an instant classic.
... and I liked Vanilla Sky.
and A.I.

I get the feeling that the trend here has moved to "I didn't like that movie" instead of "It was a bad movie".
Ocean's 11 may not have been everyone's cup of tea but it wasn't a "BAD" movie. A bad movie has crap for a director, horible special effects, no plot, crappy actors, universally panned by critics and no budget.

My point exactly.
Again, watch
Manos or
Alone in the Dark and embrace the horror of a truly awful film.

Big Trouble In Little China. Fun to watch, but a terrible film.

You are a heathen, and beyond salvation. This film is on par with
Ghostbusters in terms of comedy/adventure with a supernatural theme.
I agree with Atomic, some of these films mentioned might be crappy, but that doesn't mean they are BAD in the sense of
Manos,
Porno Holocaust or
Zombi 3. Trust me.
Watch something like:
Iron Warrior
and even
Caddy Shack movies seem like Shakespeare.

Big Trouble may be a bit dated....I saw it in the theatre and absolutely loved it. I haven't seen it again, and if I did I'm sure I wouldn't like it as much, but in the late '80's, it just fired on all cylinders. Brazil and Birdy were two other movies that worked for me back then, but I haven't watched since....methinks I need to visit the local used DVD store.
As for Iron Warrior; please allow me to wipe the tears out of my eyes before I respond.
That's how powerful it is.

I hear it was the artistic inspiration for

I think it also inspired the guy who wrote Beowulf.

Hey, I
likeBig Trouble In Little China. But it's badly written, badly acted, and just silly. Can't argue with the Three Storms though. Ever noticed how they seem to be much easier to defeat when they're not wearing their huge basket-hats?

That's true, actually. Basket hats should be part of the military uniform.
Has anyone else seen the cult classic
Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx?
I'm convinced Carpenter drew his inspiration of that trio from this film.

Big Trouble in Little China is one of the greatest films ever made (along with Buckaroo Banzai and Tapeheads.
