Or she could come back here. That works too.

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

Absolutely true; sorry to appear like an FB enabler.

Still, it is my observation that most of the participants in the October 2016 Elohimfest (Danlo, ali, Jenn, Rigel, lorin, Ussimiel, etc) have been largely MIA since. No idea why, but all are still more active on FB than here.

1. They're too cool to hang out with us now.
2. They were replaced by pod people.
3. I dunno.

Great to see you here Cameraman Jenn! In respect of The Nutcracker Suite, the pas de deux from the ballet has to be one of my absolute favourite pieces of music ever and if heard in conjunction with two good ballet dancers is a simply sublime sensual experience.

The film was for me a disaster though; I just thought it was such a wasted opportunity to do the work in a rich and vibrant way, but more accessible to a wider audience who mostly would never get the opportunity to see it on stage. The only connection they kept with the work was the name. Still, if any of the youngsters toward which it was aimed follow it up in later life by seeing it done properly, this would be a plus that might make up for what they did - a bit!

We saw the Nutcracker this past Christmas.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Julie loves it.

Horses for courses Sarge - glad you enjoyed it. I think I went there expecting to see the ballet done by Disney. I guess I was bound to be dissapointed on that score - this simply wasn't the movie they were making.

Ours was a local production.
Stafford, not Houston. So likely
Beneath Houston ballet stsndards,
But above many small cities means.

My mistake Sarge; I thought you were talking about the Disney version (not a ballet at all, but rather just a loose adaption of the story {very loose}) acted out. I've never seen the ballet live - only films of live performances - and I'd jump at the chance to do so. In the UK however, visiting the ballet means a stay in London and a very hefty ticket price so it isn't likely to happen any time soon alas!

Here in SA. Didn't really enjoy it much...dragged along by my Grandmother, and got a migraine half-way through, so wasn't the most pleasant experience, due to no fault of the performance itself of course. :D

In such situations drugs are the only reasonable recourse. [I hear that people are resorting to LSD and mushrooms when going to the recently released [and reputedly execrable] film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats, and very much enjoying the alternate reality version experienced there by all accounts.]
