This isn't your forum.

And your delivery pales in comparison to Eastwood's.

No, no, Eastwood wouldn't cry, Eastwood NEVER cries, I must be...a man (*snuffles*)

Just watched it this weekend and I really have to say...

... how many times I said "jeez, he's just like Covenant!!" I mean really. (Except of course that he's much older than TC) I was totally ready for "if I wanted visitors I'd post a sign!"

Saw it , Loved it. Agree with Malik's comments on Unforgiven -- but I am not sure which is better, hard for me to compare.

Exactly! I kept thinking the same thing.

This just proves that a Covenant movie could do well. Granted, there would have to be a larger budget, and a correspondingly larger box office, but I think it could easily be done. There is an audience for this kind of drama. And it would cross all demographics.

Just watched it, and I only have one thing to say:

A beautiful and surprising film from (of all people) Clint Eastwood, who directed, produced, and starred in.

A cantankerous old [expletive deleted], recently widowed, feels an alien in the neighborhood he's lived in since the 50's but which is now mostly populated by Hmong people. Asian gang bangers begin to harass the kid next door and he chases them away with his shotgun. A hero to the Hmongs, they shower him with gifts and attempt to befriend him. He starts to give in and builds a relationship with the young man the gang has been trying to initiate, teaching him to use tools and curse like a sailor, and finding him a job. He is also dying from lung cancer, a fact he hides from everyone.

But the gang has not forgotten him and confrontation is inevitable. When it comes, Eastwood surpasses himself and the ending is redemptive without sentimentality.

My husband liked this film too. :) That's saying a lot.
