Hey religion thread! Get out of Gen. Discussion, punk.

It says "Moved" next to the thread title, but it doesn't show up in The Close. It's been moved to "The Collective", but not under any particular forum.

Can someone rescue it and put it where it belongs?

Now that we've succeeded in getting this back where it belongs (Thanks Vain!) perhaps we can get some more thoughts on the matter?

I chose God and Jesus as my "religion". Most religions use Them for their own gains. I was raised Catholic, but as I grew older I realized how demeaning Catholism was. Everything is considered sin, women are second class, and children are taught that they were born with sin already on their souls.

Sigh...

God is LOVE, Jesus is LOVE. The Commandments are the shapers of our lives. The Bible is the Book of hope. The Church is about power, not love. It's about conquering and shaping and molding. Jesus never said "go out and conquer...kill in My name."

So Furls, do you have a place of worship you attend? It sounds like you're a bit fed up with the church.....

My "church" is all around me, Dan. I see God and Jesus everywhere, I feel Them everywhere, I talk to Them from anywhere and everywhere.

I walk the path They have placed before me. If it leads me to a "house of worship" then I will go in. But, in MY house, the presence of the Lord swells. He's in the very walls, air, water...I hear His voice constantly.

That's cool. I try hard not to let myself take too many weeks off of church; but it's more of a ritual (like my own VS) than for any real calling. I wish I had the peace that would allow me to be confident in my path, but for today I remain on uncertain terrain.

I like that. As we said about days in another thread; either all places are holy, or none are. No Deity is limited to their "place of worship".

Not that Discordians have places of worship, (and not that we do much, or any, actual worship), we can see the Goddess anywhere that we look. Chaos is all around us.

I'm particularly fond of the buddhist idea that "god" is everything. From the lice and the fleas, all the way up to you, and even the people that you dislike. Everything is just Life, doing It's best.
