Breakfast club! Don't forget about me.
I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

The greatest adventure, from the Rankin Bass version of The Hobbit.

I refuse to check the link out of fear that it's the Leonard Nemoy one.

<edit> Ok, it wasn't. Almost as bad, though. But I can top it. Look on this and be dismayed.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Hey, I resent that! That's one of my favorite songs, whereas the Leonard Nimoy song is one of the worst things ever made!

I dont know how many of you have seen the film Gummo, its biggest claim to fame is ,that is among the first movies Chloe Sevigny appears in but anyway, the film is about small town Ohio trailer trash. Most of the soundtrack is made up of SLAYER songs, but near the end of the movie there is a small interlude where the song Cryin by Roy Orbison is used.If allowed to change my vote , I would, simply because that scene has stuck with me for years, when for the most part the rest of the film has faded from memory. Orbison may have been a creepy old dude, but his voice has a haunting quality that wont let you go.

Speaking of haunting yet creepy, Donnie Darko has "Mad World" in it. Great piece, and very fitting for the movie.

This is from Wristcutters. It's set in the afterlife for those who committed suicide.

I came very close to putting this, but didn't for reasons unknown now. But yeah...it's a great version of it, as I recently heard the original from Tears for Fears and if I had heard their version first (or if I did indeed hear their version first), it would be very forgettable, whereas it was very memorable in this movie.

"Stonemaybe" I did a search and didn't find a topic, so....

Burning Bridges in Kelly's Heroes
Everytime I see this film (Which is a favorite of mine), this song goes through my head for a few days or so.
(Can you say "ear-worm"?)

This song gets my nomination.
Have you hugged your arghule today?

the best music ive heard to give the film impact for me has been

1. Rocky
2. The Terminator

those two for me were the most fitting scores I've ever heard in a movie.

for sound tracks I liked

1. Dazed and Confused
2. Almost Famous

best use of audio in film

Post by Lord Zombiac »

Unquestionably "Ina Gadda da vida" in "manhunter."
It is so well timed... the drum roll as the glass breaks, then the drum solo starts as Dollarhyde whips out his shotgun...
Truly awesome!
Also great audio is the nightmarish jazz club scene in "Daughter of Horror."
"Daughter of Horror" is awesome too-- the only words spoken in the film are narration by Ed McMahon!

jsut a quick couple that spring to mind: "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" , not from Butch Cassidy ... but how it was used in Spider-man 2. Classic!

And the entire sountrack to "Last Man Standing". An average movie, but, MAN did that soundtrack kick majoy butt. Perfectly fit the grunge of the western setting...
nice...

Top for me would be Cavatina (well sort of a song-Cleo Lane does put lyrics to it somewhere...) in The Deer Hunter

Also for the romantics, Unchained Melody in Ghost.

Plus......

Mrs Robinson in The Graduate

Singin' in the Rain from A Clockwork Orange

I Wanna Be Like You-oo-oo from Jungle Book

Man of Constant Sorrow from O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Everybodies Talkin' at Me from Midnight Cowboy

The Green Leaves of Summer from The Alamo
"Winston, if you were my husband I'd give you poison" ................ "Madam, if you were my wife I would drink it!"

"Terrorism is war by the poor, and war is terrorism by the rich"

"A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well."

"The opposite of pro-life isn't pro-death. Y'know?"
