A small secret, that is he in my avatar.
I thought so! :D I actually own all his solo stuff... unfortunately, I don't have a lot of his singles with Pink Floyd... I found out they're in the box set after I got all the Pink Floyd albums...but they're starting to wear out, I may just have to make that purchase.

The Wall isn't my favorite PF album, isn't anywhere close. I find that as PF progressed to a Waters dominated band, the less I like them. Thus, DSOTM and WYWH are my favorites. Likewise, I'm not crazy about Gilmour dominated PF either.

My thoughts on this are that although Waters isn't a good vocalist, how many more times in my life am I going to be have the opportunity to see The Wall live?

The downside is that the tour isn't anywhere within 5 hours from where I live, and if I travel to see it, I'll be alone (my wife doesn't get PF at all, and very few of my friends do.)

So, if any of you think you'd want to see the show in the eastern U.S., I may want to tag along. I'm thinking Philly, Chicago, NYC or Boston, Tampa.

Tampa, November 16. you'd be better off coming here to see Rush on October 1..........

Rush is another one we're thinking of doing...

Ack, Beorn is finally expressing interest in attending these shows with us. So, three tickets instead of two.
...at least he can share the driving to and from Gator Town.

I'll definitely be doing Rush. If it was Pink Floyd in November instead of just Roger Waters, I'd be way more interested in seeing it. But, Waters + lip synch - Gilmour - Mason - Wright = I don't really care.

Nah, I don't get Rush. ;)

I know what you're saying about Pink Floyd vs. Waters alone, but now that Wright's gone, that will never happen.

I (may) take what I can get.

If you come down, I'd be willing to do the show with you (and Menolly's family). Frankly, Rush wouldn't work out even if you did like them, as I'll be going with my friend Jan, and aTOMiC can tell you what that's like....

My hope is we'll have the cash to buy tickets before they sell out.
Will also keep y'all informed.

I've been notified I was not selected for the pre-sale lottery for Tampa.
Here's hoping tickets are still available to the general public after...

w00t!!
Apparently others before me in the Tampa lottery did not take advantage and I was given the chance to buy a pair of tickets after all.

Floor tickets (within the first three rows) is waaaay out of our reach. But we got the secondary seats. One pair for ~$180. Now I just need to score a third ticket of equivalent value (about $80 plus $10 fees) so Beorn can come as well.

I did not receive any notices about Tampa, so now I'm questioning if I entered the Tampa lottery at all. But, I've got similar notices for Boston, Philly and Chicago. Looks like I'm going to Chicago.

Scratch that - can't makes those dates. Damn.

Well bummerdrag.
I was really hoping to hang out with you before and after the show.

There are all sorts of presale offers for Tampa live on the LiveNation website. I don't know if you can get the passcodes needed for any of the offers, but I know you may be able to qualify for the AOL one, if none of the others, yes?

I saw Floyd during the Momentary lapse tour.

Julie and I saw Roger touring DSOTM last time out.

and we are hoping to purchase tickets as Roger is coming back to Houston for the Wall.

David seems to not know where Houston is.

I have every Floyd album. I have every solo Floyd member album I can find. (not able to track down Mason's stuff.)

and have some great bootlegs.

I guess i like them, :)

General sale tickets went on sale this morning.

I first checked out the equivalent priced ticket for what I bought through the pre-sale. The "best" seat offered was perpendicular to the stage, third level, between half and two-thirds of the way back, row D of that section.

I shrugged my shoulders and figured, not so great for $90 with fees, so I let it go and checked out the $67 priced tickets.

Also perpendicular to the stage and third level. Row K, so seven rows higher than the $90 ticket.

...but it is the next section closer to the stage. The seat is located between one-third and one-half the length of the arena to the stage.

I decided to go with the less expensive ticket. Although further back, the two seats on the second level in the corner will have a better view, and I'll let Beorn and Hyperception sit together to really get in to it. If I don't have the cataract surgery before November, my own vision from the corner seats would be blurred anyway, so although at a bad angle and higher up, being closer to the stage will work for me. :D
