As my post count has reached 1000, the avatar description which was previously 'Haruchai', has now changed!
Voila! I'm not sure, but I think it's a little joke at the expense of the high volume posters. As in, you have over a thousand posts, lots of them must be spam. Is it the highest rank in the automatic rankings?
Yep, it's the highest of the automatic rankings. It is possible to customise your title, if you go and take a look at your user profile.
Peter wrote:How do they do that!
As explained, you have to do it manually.

In the box you're typing it, it looks like this for quotes which do not show the author:

Code: Select all
Whatever the person said...
And for one's which do show the author, (takes longer but prevent confusion):

Code: Select all
Whatever they said...
Note the quotation marks around the name.

Ties in nicely I think with a trip to New Orleans I have been talking about on another thread (Star Joey's). In the guide books before I went there I was warned about a scam common on Bourbon St where a guy comes up to you and says "I bet you $5 I know where you got them shoes." If you are foolish enough to accept the bet the answer is of course "You got them on your feet in Bourbon Street New Orleans." I imagined this to be a guide book 'urban ledgend' and paid it little notice until I got there and was asked the question about five times a day for 12 days.

Could someone explain..... does the Watch ever 'fill up' - I mean do all thes posts just go on for ever and ever or does someone have to 'empty it out' every now and again, sort of like a trash can at the end of each week. I know it sounds silly but I couldn't help wondering....

When Kevin's Watch fills up, it will virtually collapse from the enormous mass of its database, creating a singularity which will evolve into a black hole, gradually consuming the entire internet, and eventually, the world as we know it.

What that is, is adorable, Sarge.

(Mine was a reference to the humans' nickname for the Cylons on Battlestar Galactica. I guess nobody got it. :( )

Agree on cuteness factor.

Was that the new Battlestar? Cuz I haven't seen it, and I don't remember the phrase from the original [heh...but that was loong time ago].
"Toaster" is slang for seriously tech-enhanced peeps in "Shadowrun" however...wonder who stole from who, is why I ask...

the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.

Uh, it sorta goes on and on. It's possible to empty it out, but we would really prefer not to have to. Of course, that brings its own problems, like the rather large database, but we prefer not to lose posts from the past.

Not to nit-pick, but a black hole is a singularity :P

Though a singularity is not necessarily a black hole

The rest is sound. As Donaldson fans, we must destroy... that's the message of the Chronicles, right?
