Totally disagree there! I think both would be PERFECT for the parts.

Nay, Eartha Kit as Holt's mom!

I, actually, agree with Bushemi--aside from the fact that Marlon is no longer with us I'm looking for a little more active Bill not a "Jabba" clone. Now if your talking about Brando in his prime...I'm not sure any current actor has the chops to keep up with him Bale's getting close but he still has alot of work to do. Rourke could have done it if he didn't go all steriod...(sorry I'm straying in to Casting...)

If we're going for the miscast version, how about

Nick Succorso - Jim Carrey (in full Ace Ventura persona)

&

Holt Fasner - Hugh Grant

You know, Meatloaf's character in the 51st State isn't a million miles away from my perception of Holt...

Strange! He's way to weird for holt. More a "Billish" quality I think. Holt is more like a cooperate finance version of Hannibal Lecter.

I don't know - Fasner's explosive temper was never far from the surface. He reminded me a little of the stereotypical evil king in that respect. Cunning and manipulative, but prone to bouts of rage. I recall someone hearing Holt pound his desk in fury at one point.

True! Forgot about the rage.

For miscasting, and using some dead actors, here goes.

Nick: The Duke, John Wayne. "Cause I'm Nick Succorso, pilgrim, and I never lose!"

Warden: Jimmy Stewart. Just think of the stuttering!

Marc Vestibule: Truman Capote. OK, not an actor, but still .....

Morn: Vivian Leigh, as Scarlett O'Hara.

Dolph: Rochester.

Sib: Don Knotts.

Vector: Jack Benny.

Just for starters.

Nigel Havers - Angus Thermopyle
Maggie Smith - Morn Hyland
David Suchet - Nick Succorso
Ving Rhames - Koina Hannish
Macaulay Culkin - Holt Fasner
Bill Cosby - The Bill (ho ho!)
Christopher Lambert - Sixten Vertigus
Brian Blessed - Davies Hyland
Morgan Freeman - the Amnion half of Marc Vestabule
Gwen Stefani - the human half of Marc Vestabule
Leo Sayer - Davies Hyland Senior
Hayden Christensen - a vial of mutagen

And not forgetting the omnipresent:

Alfred Hitchcock as Norna Fasner

You know, every time someone puts up one of these miscast lists I see at least one name that's so crazy that it just might work. This time it's Macualey Culkin as Holt. Nothing like SRDs Holt but I think having Mac as that character would be very creepy.

Plus there's an opportunity for Leo Sayer if they ever make a Gap musical: "I feel like die-ying! Die-ying! Angus blew me away!"

Do you suppose Andrew Lloyd Webber's up to the challenge "Gap - the Musical"?

Could work: The Gap cycle is based on the Ring cycle, and Webber tends toward operatic style...

This opens up a whole new world of casting (and miscasting) opportunities...
