Well Perkele. Skulls, heavy metal, a badarse female lead, booming war-drums, biker grannies...what more could a Swordmain wish for after a mentally taxing workday?

A flirtatious companion with a selection of cold beers and an open mind?

wayfriend - I started reading through that review and was puzzling over their response to the film, particularly on that bit about the roles of the female characters. Then I glanced up and saw "Breitbart". Ah.

Ah indeed, that as well (switch the beers for a small shot of Vana Tallinn).

However, one must wield an open mind to begin with when conversing with rowdy, rabelaisian Giantesses.
Honestly, didn't know what to expect with the film, what with not having followed the series aforenow. Was yawning cavernously when the commercials began, in particular during Jurassic World's trailer. Oh look, another lizard exploding out of the bushes and everyone's
tremendously baffled that something might go awry with genemanip monsters in spite of 667 previous unsuccessful attempts?
Sky Sharks starts smelling nigh-on like a fresher and more reasonable idea compared to that...
Could we perchance get some head-banging raptors playing black metal in the next Jurassic Jig? ♫
But, yes, MM was worth watching.

Oh, you can
film a rape scene easily. The question has always been, will anyone produce it?

Well, anyone who can pause to promote a Chronicles movie can't be ALL bad.

I can't get that product here so I would have to substitute something comparable but you have a deal. I always leave an open mind for Giantesses.
The kids may be gone this weekend--we'll see how that transpires given the state of the flooding down in Central Texas--but if they are gone then Mrs. Lebwohl and I will likely go see it.

But I did come across this Linden Avery reference in an opinion piece about the movie, which is just too unlikely to not share:
It’s an acute case of what I’ve long thought of as “Linden Avery Syndrome,” after the bait-and-switch protagonist who muscled the title character out of his own story in the second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever. (By the way, why hasn’t Hollywood taken a crack at that series yet? It’s a film-friendly deconstruction of Lord of the Rings that had a zillion readers back in the day.) [

The real question is, could Charlize Theron play Linden? That might have a few THOOLAH folks burning their membership cards.

I will dispatch Stonemage and Bluntfist to entertain you.

I seem to find myself occupied with this kinsman of the Haruchai folk these days...

We saw it over the weekend. Not as much Fallout/Wasteland influence as I would have thought, given that the original movies influenced both games, but some elements were present. Probably the most interesting thing of the movie was that Mr. Romero made us have sympathetic feelings towards a War Boy, who is essentially nothing more than a desert raider.
Other than the one glaring plot hole--they sure did clear all those rocks that got blasted into that narrow canyon really quickly--I won't get in to details for another week or so to give more people time to see it.

I surmised Hashi would be capable of pleasing two Giantesses at the same time. The magic of math and tech...
However, ware the earthquakes.

Earthquakes? No problem.
Incidentally, how exactly did Furiosa get the valuables into the rig in the first place? Didn't Immortan Joe have guards...or was he relying on his absolute control and the idea that no one would dare cross him? *shrug* I don't mean to nit-pick the movie because I really liked it and it remained true to the world of Mad Max.

Nonexistent story, nonexistent characters, repetitive, boring shit.
Car chase! Explosions! Mumble, mumble, dialog! Pointy things! Makeup! Stuff!
Mad Max: Nowhere and Back Again.
An entire movie based on the premise that no one can think of shooting the f*&#ing tires.

Z., I think there's only so many ways these kinds of stories can go. For what it was, I thought it was pretty entertaining.

"These kinds of stories" had like three other movies that were much more than two hour long car chases which would have ended in 2 minutes if someone had shot the tires.
For what it was, it was the worst one of all. This was not a movie. This was a two hour long trailer. This was the world's most self-indulgent and boring Iron Maiden video.
