I live in Moody now, if you know where that is. Kind of next to Leeds...east of Birmingham proper, but still close enough to be considered part of it. (Five minutes of driving is really nothing =P)

Really, I think Alabama's strongest asset (For what assets it has  ) is, as far as its geography and fauna goes, it's quite a beautiful place.
I know where Moody is. I worked in a long term care facility not far from (off the Cook Spring's exit) until a little over 5 years ago. I got tired of the suicide run on I-20 twice daily and started looking closer to home.

Alabama is indeed a beautiful state. I love to go up to Mt. Cheaha during the week, when there aren't any people and just sit. Kind of like being on Kevin's Watch!
Be kind to your web-footed friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother.

I live right off the Moody exit itself...like...I could probably walk to it if I wanted.

Amusingly, the neighborhood I live is rather tucked in some trees, and so, though I'm within walking distance of convenience and driving distance of most anything else (to Birmingham), it's really quiet and secluded.

One of my favorite spots is the entire Little River Canyon area...some of the sights there are just breathtaking.
