I have a bad track record with these things, but it looks doable.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Kym, my youngest turned 2 on Jan 23rd.
Awesome Fist- we can run all over after them together.

We'll try, Duchess. I hope Furl's can make it......

We'll see. NY is a lot closer to DC than Albuquerque -- definitely driveable! We'll be in the throes of packing off my oldest to college, plus my mom (who turned 90 last weekend!) may well be living with us by then, so I can't promise anything yet. I could always leave the girls home and come by myself -- hmmm....

You and whichever family members you bring with you would be very welcome, Aliantha. :)

And Kym, I am certain that Furls will be with us in her heart, whether or not her health allows her to come to New York.

You go, girl! :D We need to join Brinn in reminding people that there are so many cancer "survivors" nowadays that there should be a whole new viewpoint on the subject.

I'm still figuring ways and means, so we may indeed, ironically, meet on the other side of the country. ;)

Yeah. As soon as duchess finds out when her vacation will be, she'll let us know. Right? :D

Yep, we have to put in for our time off for the entire coming year once a year.   (It's a massive pain in the butt, but it has forced me to become more organized and learn how to do a bit of long range planning over the years. :-x ) I put in for my time by the deadline, which was at the end of last month. The supervisors are supposed to let us know sometime in March if they have granted our requests. I am tops for my position in seniority, so hopefully I will get off the time in August I requested. If so, then we can pick whether we want to meet the first weekend or the second weekend.

I was just talking to Fisty and he let drop the important news that not only is there a Panera Bread (great soup and sandwiches and a bakery) a mile from the hotel, but there is also a Crispy Cream.

Anyone else up for a middle of the night donut run???
