Where are the investigative reporters to weasel there way into one of these factories, secret cameras in hand, to gather information for a major expose?

Oh, that's right--the white house would demand a retraction of such a story because it would prevent them from furthering the get-rich cause of their backers....

Ah, well...

What... you mean, during the run-up, any candidate discovered to have anything unsavoury in their past gets tossed out - then eventually a winner is chosen based on their popularity?

Heaven forbid. ;)

Actually, there have been several good reports about the sweatshops in American Territories - there's even one where, when an owner is asked about some proposed regulations, he talks for several minutes about how he and DeLay are old friends, and DeLay has promised to block the legislation.

(Soon after that report aired, Delay took another "Investigative Trip" to the islands, and came back criticizing the "liberal media bias of recent reports" on the subject.)

Also, there's a book by a woman that made it to America from one of the Island sweatshops - and she's started a lawsuit against DeLay for his active role in her degradation.
