Embrace the horror that is Don Johnson singing.
I love how lists like these seem to eagerly jump on 80s music. Yeah it was pretty shallow, but it was fun. I'll listen to Poison, Dokken, and Def Leppard all day long before I listen to the garbage that was grunge (except for Alice in Chains), or the bitchy whiny emo stuff, or God forbid rap/metal (I want to throw Linkin Park into a chipper/shredder).

Sure, they've got a few decent ones, but then there's Out Of Touch <shudder>

It's way up there.

I would be inclined to agree with you on that one if not for this.....
My father passed when this song was on the charts. My brother and I had spent the day cleaning out his apartment. We were in a local pizza place, eating pizza and sharing a pitcher of beer. We were both pretty down, trying to figure out what we were going to do about Mom and neither one of us had much to say. There was a video jukebox in the place and someone started that going. By the time it was over, we were both laughing so hard we couldn't do anything else! Once we got over the giggles, we were able to start talking. So yes, it's a really lame song, but one I kind of have a soft spot for. We both think Dad was trying to tell us something.
Be kind to your web-footed friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother.
I can't believe that Europe's The Final Countdown, Cherokee, or Carrie didn't make the list. I can't think of any band that was more consistant with their lameness.

I completely agree with #7. Probably the worst cover since Tori Amos' version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." #3... eh. St. Anger wasn't a bad song by any means. I don't think any of the tracks on the album are deserving of being on the list. Yes, the album overall sucked, and yes it did finally disenfranchise me from Metallica.
A few of the songs really sucked (Mmmbop, Barbie Girl), some of them had annoying moments, a lot of it is just pop fluff, and the vast majority is just stuff that got overplayed.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

It appears that I am one of the few who like[/] Boston.
But....one that is right up there with the worst of them is
Biz Markie's "Just A Friend"

"Carrion, my wayward son."
"Will there be pieces when you are done?"
I'm surprised the list isn't dominated by Celine Dion, Canada's "gift" to the rest of the earth. Discussion of oversingers is not complete until her name is brought up.
