Waterstones in Leeds said it was delayed to 11th November (but I think that is the slipcase edition), Borders were waitng for copies, and I picked up 3 copies in WH Smiths in Leeds (one for me, one for a friend, and one for Creator in the US), all of which we're going to get signed on 11th in Manchester.

Eventually a couple of seating spots became free, and I randomly chose one. As I sat down, I noticed the man sitting beside me was engrossed in a hefty book. Then I saw the cover. Yes, it was the book. Not only was it the lone copy he had seen at the place he bought it from, but it was also a signed copy. It was nice that I came across a fellow Donaldson reader, but all that time I sat there, the nearness of the book drove me to distraction. I am soooooooo disappointed by that other store now...
Oh Neo, thank you...I needed to laugh out loud!!!
I'm almost done!! It's amazing!! All of you still waiting, it's awesome! Welcome back to THE LAND!!!

Ya know, Furls, they made me sweat it out before I got my copy. The woman at the counter was frowning at the computer screen, going, "Gee, we should have that here..." Er, yes, that must have been why it was nowhere in sight. So she had to go to the
back of the store to dig up a copy for me. Ah, yes, the ol' hide-the-book-in-the-disused-lavatory-with-a-sign-saying-'beware the leper!' trick. Oh, well. I have it now, that's all that matters. I feel light-headed just holding the book...

Oh I know what you mean. I actually cried when I opened the Amazon box. This book means that much to me.
But, this hiding of
the book must cease!! It's an outrage!!

Well, hey, it's the return of savant to the Watch! Welcome back!
I should give the bookstore the benefit of a doubt in the case of Runes's invisibility. The place likely just got a shipment in, and the staff just didn't have time to set up the copies for display on the shelves. It's just us crazy fans who knew about the book first. Speaking of which: I should have mentioned the Watch to that fellow on the bus. Oh, well...could've, should've...didn't.

Thanks~! And I know how it goes~! I'm a musician and often forget to refer other musicians to the harmony-central site. But I haven't run into any SRD fans in person in a while to refer here. I'm going to have to get the word out about his books (again, like in the '80s - earlier '90s), and I'll start a sci-fi/fantasy thread at the aforementioned HC site~! Can you believe I've been so busy w/ work and tests at school that I haven't even gotten out to see if the book is available at my local B&N~?!?
I'm going to look right after work today~! I can't wait to get it read and see what everyone's thoughts are and guesses are regarding future books~!

Wow~! I just got home with the book, and I really like the art on it a lot better than I thought I would based on what I could tell on pics of the ARCs on e-bay~!
It sort of makes me sad seeing the top of the book saying, "The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant," but then I thought I'd read the last of it a long time ago. I'll have to make myself do my homework now rather than read this book nonstop~!
