This is something I have considered Av. It's a risk - but still one I think worth taking.

Well, possibly less of a risk for you than for somebody doing it in their 20's. :D It takes a while to burn out on something you enjoy. ;)

Personally, I think if you can find something more satisfying to do that pays you more, don't hesitate.

Sure - and I think once you have 'plumbed the depths' of any occupation it'll begin to tarnish, be it for money or otherwise. This is life - we move on! :D

Well not any occupation ;) .... well I mean fair enough actually  everything we do in life has its downs as well as its ups. ;) Even raising children has its struggles as well as its many, many joys.

The roles to avoid are the utterly toxic ones, that give nothing while also sucking you dry.

Some people have forgotten more than others will ever learn in their field. Sometimes these skills can be realised for greater personal benefit by tapping them into similar but different fields. It can mean risk. Wish you well in your recovery Pete.
Today I think that I am going to avoid the guitar shop for a while. I came so close to spending way too much..... it was as if I came under a spell....... I'd have to move into the shed if I bought it.

...Last night we had the weekly steak night at home. Full house in attendance for dinner which was great (the sons are hard to get together in one place these days), and food as always was terrific. Did the garbage from the house to the bins just as the kitchen was being tidied up by the sons, while dear wife retired to the loungeroom.
2 x Tbone remains missed the garbage run, and so I said to the boys "Put them in that box and close it and then put it in the plastic bag and tie that up before it goes in the kitchen bin please, It is too cold to bother going back out and the cats wont smell that or break into all of that."

Bad call. This morning we find the cats had opened the cupboard leading to the bin, dragged the bag from the bin, chewed through the plastic and cardboard and delivered the bones as trophies which were so clean of anything that you could be forgiven for thinking they were sandblasted."
Bloody cats. Today I think that I would like to sit and listen to the magpies warble.... But there is work to be done.

The sun came out today. It was very nice to take the cup of tea outside for a change, as it has been so bloody cold.
I know I will be complaining it is too hot in about 4 months time, but today was a beauty.
I found distraction too easily today.

Today was a beautiful day .. my way too. I was out at a clients place at 6.30am and it was freezing .. and had to scrape ice off the car so I could drive it and see where I was going ;) :P I had fun with the 6 doggos I looked after .. so that was awesome.

In fact I had to stop and scrape it off again along the way cos it iced up as I drove .. but the middle of the day was perfect.

Trev made a lovely dinner, and we had friends over which was also a lovely evening. We sat outside and had the brazier and fire pit going .. and kept things enjoyable .. then we came inside and sat around the fire and had dessert. All in all a lovely day

Cold again here today. Walking through the garden you would think that a tiger has been sleeping here.

Frost-wilting, I would guess. Garden plants all wilted down after a freeze might look like a big beast like a tiger had lain there.

I think that's a metaphor, but if aliantha came around here occasionally, she'd surely know just what literary device Kizza used.

Tigers are bigger than wombats, and I'd dare say more readers have a clear mental image of Tiger than Wombat.

Hey Savor Dam, you are right with that description. The winter and chill has made a mess.
Today I think Australian politics is an embarrassment. Leadership spills seemingly year on year, driven by two opposing parties which barely differentiate for fear of a puerile media ...... embarrassment
