Thanks to all for the love and prayers. We all appreciate them.

Tracie has slipped into another coma. She is unresponsive. There is some good news, she did not have any seizures today. The vent is still in, Anna and Liz tried to take it out, but Tracie would not breath on her own, we are afraid that her automatic functions are shutting down, her brain is just not sending the signal to breath anymore.

I think, we all think, that her time to leave us is approaching now. I know she doesn't want us to keep her alive by machines, so I have a hard decision to make.

Words cannot express how much all your love and support has meant to us during this time of struggle. We are all very grateful for everything you all have done.

God bless you all!

26 years ago tonight, my parents Tracie and Russ got married. They have shared so much together.

And now, with mom nearing the end of this life their anniversary is bittersweet. Dad is just holding her. We aren't sure how much longer she will be here with us. The vent was removed a few hours ago and she is breathing on her own. But, there is no response from her at all.

And a new year begins soon...what it will bring for us, we don't know, but the thought of going on with life without mom, seems impossible. I can't imagine my life without her in it.

On behalf of my father, my brothers, my sisters, my aunts and uncles...but mostly on behalf of my mother, I thank you all for your prayers, love and support. You are all very special to her. God bless you all.

Brooke... Russ... I wish there were words for me to say now. Words is the only way I know you. The only way I've known Tracie. It's how the Watch works, after all. And now, words are useless. I feel like an idiot trying to come up with something worth saying. But I guess, since it's all we have, all we've ever had between us, I need to at least do this much. I wish I could speak my love, and my arms around all of you. I'm so sorry.

I was very glad to tell Furls I loved her the last time we spoke, and to hear her respond in kind. No matter what happens, her spirit is unconquerable. No matter where she is she is giving love and inspiration... Her humor, her warmth...I can imagine it years from now. I love you Tracie...

Be strong, Brooke--you are stronger than you know, and your mom's spirit is part of you.

I'm no good at dealing with loss, whether it's the loss of someone in my family or someone like Tracie who has been a member of this greater family at KW.

But I just finished watching Return of the King, whose farewell scene seems fitting and even more bittersweet now after coming here. LOTR was something Tracie held dear to her heart (if I'd said precious, I'm sure she would have smiled). So I don't find it hard to picture her on that last ship, standing with Gandalf and Frodo. Sailing out of Middle-earth, they "beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise."
