Four-way battles?!? I don't know why everybody has to cause so much trouble. Just because we're demons doesn't mean we can't get along.

You kidding?? Now there are two Tits of Despair?

An hour since the map, and I still don't have results!!! This tests even my legendary patience.

Well one would be silly... unless a mastectomy was involved, in which case, it would be perfectly understandable.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

In Turn 8, the shaft of the wiener will be built, and then the diagram will make more sense.

It's pre-literate graffiti to the Creator, calling him a dick. Or claiming that whoever owns the Pits of Despair has a really big wang. (In the words of Terry Pratchett's Casanunda, "I've got a great big tonker.")

Anyway, all the turns are sent. I really appreciate the rest of you not telling Fist that I really did finish processing two weeks ago. Best prank ever. Even as I write this, he's going to wonder if I really did.

And, of course, if there are any things I missed, or did wrong (which I fully admit to being a possibility), please let me know ASAP and I'll get it corrected.

So, since we're going with the claim that results were sent out on Feb 19th, and looking at my class schedule for the next few weeks, let's just admit that if submissions come in before the 11th, I won't even look at them anyway. So, next submission deadline: March 11th.

Seriously enjoying this! Don't know how you keep up with it all, Goat, but thanks.

Now I have to figure out how to get more involved in the Game thread.

Thank you. I accept PayPal donations. Use the same email address as you send turn submissions to.

So, I've been updating the What is Known thread. It currently includes pictures and names (but no other important details) for all the different types of demons in Hell. This includes a few unique named non-prince demons. When the player who created that type of demon didn't provide me with a picture, I tried to supply one of my own. In some cases, the players didn't even give me a physical description, so I just made one up. If you see one of your creations listed, and don't like the picture, go find a picture you like better, and send it to me. Also, some of you have told me not to list your types of demons. I'm going with the approach that since I'm not listing stats, I'm not giving much away. Knowing that Hell Hounds have two heads doesn't tell anyone how buff or puny they are; but it does mean that when you attack the player who has them, and I tell you that some Hell Hounds come and mangle your people... you can refer to the picture and know what I'm talking about.

I'm in the middle of finding pictures for all of the locations. In this case, even the knowledge that a place exists might reveal something to a savvy player. So, I'll shoot everyone a PM with my proposed write-up, and you can tell me what should or should not be known. However, anybody who's made a tower or anything tall, doesn't get to explain when others can see it from a distance, so I'll put up a picture without your permission. Next time, consider building an Earthscraper, not a Skyscraper.

Also, a couple of you haven't yet built bases, and so while you have locations, I haven't marked you on the publicly viewable map. Given the number of tall towers with each of the Princes, I'm going to start showing people those locations next turn.

And finally... how does everybody like the map, this time around? I had to spend a few hours building the thing from scratch, so I could use layers in my drawing app. This way, when you all inevitably attack each other and make changes to the map, I don't have to redraw stuff every time. I can just edit your layer and be done with it. It also makes it easier for me to do the Fog of War, by disabling various layers for each player's copy of the map, based on what you should or shouldn't be able to see. However, I'm happy with the technical aspects of the thing. Does anybody have any suggestions / changes / "Hey wait, that's not what I meant in my turns!" to make?

It's too late to shift now, but I almost feel like this might be better done as just a straight HTML page that I make... take it off the Watch altogether, so that I can cross-link the map to the descriptions / pictures of the places it contains. Plus, I'm really not happy with how the pictures from the Bestiary section had to be that long-assed column, instead of allowing me to make three columns of them.

Hey Av... as I'm typing this, I notice the checkbox just below this text box for "Disable HTML in this post", which is unchecked. Does that mean I could type actual HTML tags in here to build multiple columns and whatnot? I tried that once, and it didn't work. But, I'm no expert at HTML. Perhaps I will become one, if I knew the Watch could support me doing it.

I think the HTML support is probably limited to formatting.

I suspect things like <b>bold</b> work in HTML, (yes it does), but I see that <a href> doesn't.

I doubt tables or divs will work.

Well, that's entirely poopy.

Would you mind pretty please upgrading the server to a forum app that allows everything I want?

Yeah, no problem. I probably won't be able to process your turn until then anyway.

Oh, and just a note about the map... (not that anybody asked, but I didn't want any weird assumptions being made)... I basically re-drew the map from scratch this time. I tried to put stuff in more or less the same places, but if anyone is comparing sizes and exact locations, it might appear that stuff moved around in little ways. There's no implication that the actual stuff actually moved, only that my re-drawing effort was only mediocre.

Of course, the green blob and the Tits of Despair both drastically changed shape, but any changes to location for other things is not intentional.

Can I ask that we split the "results" posts from that thread into their own thread?

I don't really wanna have to load every image in the "What Is Known" to see the map...

What, don't they have broadband there in Antarctica, or wherever you live? Who worries about image loading speed, these days?

(Why... anyone who is pulling 100 images from the 4yr old Macintosh here in my living room in America to populate a page loaded into a browser in Antarctica with no broadband connection.)

However, since you're an ADMIN with no broadband, your wish is my command. "What is known" is now a single post. Turn Results is a thread with the rest of the posts formerly from that thread.

Hahaha, thanks. Yeah...broadband here is no joke. It's not the speed, it's how much I have to pay per Mb. We've got some of the most expensive bandwidth in the world.

"pay per Mb"

What does that mean? I understand the words, but put together like that... you're just talking crazy.
