Hugs for Dukkha and for Sarge.
A pat on the head for Magickmaker and her sore shoulders. <pat pat>
And a very soft, very quiet pat on the shoulder for Sea. <pat pat>
I've spent the better part of the day online, car shopping. Last fall, driving to Roanoke, the "check engine" light came on. Took me a couple of months to get around to getting it fixed, and it cost me about $800 or so. Last weekend, driving back from Roanoke, the stupid light came on again. Arrgh. I can't afford to drop hundreds of bucks on this car every few months.... The only really sad part about getting rid of this car will be losing the highly collectible "Voldemort-Malfoy '04" bumper sticker....

Ali, you may be able to salvage the bumper sticker. I would cover it with some strong clear packing tape (without strapping in it) and proceed with the directions at the bottom of the page on the link.

My shoulder still hurts from talking to thefirst yesterday for all those hours. It might hurt less to drive and see her in person!

I hate that, null. It makes my problems seem a lot more miniscule, when I hear stuff like that.
I'm good but running on caffeine, as I've had trouble sleeping for the past two weeks (or maybe three, it's all a blur). Upcoming oral exams make me nervous, and there's also a test next week in Biology--and a lab test, to boot. I'm a quaking mass of lab tests and boots and two weeks of blurry no-sleep and kittens biting me in dreams.

Thanks, Lyr! I checked another link from that page, too, and now I've got several techniques to try. I'd thought about trying a blow dryer but I don't have an extension cord long enough to reach from my 3rd floor apartment to the parking lot...Wyldewode wrote:Ali, you may be able to salvage the bumper sticker. Hugs to everyone who needs them.
I feel good. Just got finished mounting and balancing some tires on a Dodge Durango and now I am lounging at my desk with a sleeping chihuahua hogging up my office chair. I'm very excited about all the Seafest plans in the works and that makes me very happy.

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

As far as my health, good. Which is good.
As for my car's health, not so good. The clutch was barely doing anything and I was grinding some gears to get work at 5am this morning. At first I thought I wasn't pushing the clutch down far enough, but then realized about halfway there it wasn't the case. Thankfully I work 10 minutes from my home, so I made it to work okay with some reason trouble shifts on the last block or two. Scary and bad. I believe there is a leak of the fluid, so by refilling that, I hope I can at least drive to where I can get it fixed.
Ahh, the joy of cars.

ummm....mum, we have that car converter that plugs into the car lighter....you could turn the car on, plug in the converter, and plug the extension cord/hair dryer into the converter.....aliantha wrote:Thanks, Lyr! I feel like getting a tattoo... a big one, probably on my thigh. Maybe taking up about 40% of it, with the potential of one day maybe wrapping around my leg... something bright and cheerful, like scene with a little girl holding a skunk on her lap. Or walking some skunks on a leash. Or holding a skunk near her face and cuddling with it.
I don't really care about the specifics, it just has to have:
bright colors
semi-cartoonish feel
a little girl
at least one skunk
a purple sky
Screw my car idea, this will be my graduation present to myself in October.

My favorite tattoos are black and gray with amazing shading and spectacular line work. Abstract or a replication of Da Vinci's works or something completely new... I love black and white.Avatar wrote:*shrug* Each to their own I guess. Not into bright colours, or cartoony images.
My little cousin has an Alice in Wonderland scene on her thigh.

But it's not for my body. I want big, colorful, cheerful things. Like little girls and skunks. I can't not smile at that.
(Love Alice in Wonderland. I've seen some really beautiful pieces of that, too.)
