Oh...
So have two treble clefs in the middle of the heart, facing each other? Interesting idea. My artist offered to "cover it" once I'm healed, but I told him I still wanted the center to be a treble clef, and I don't know if he has one in mind to cover it. Since the treble clef is slightly off center, due to the shape of my body, the mirror image might work.
I'll run it by him when I speak to him again.
Thanks!

Awesome, sarge!sgt.null wrote:Got my flu shot yesterday. Both Julie and I got our covid booster shots yesterday.
I got my booster back in August, I believe. We tried to get SD and Dam-sel done at the same time as my caregivers, but although I was told verbally by both my care team at one of my cancer clinics and by the folks spinsoring the booster shots that they were eligible, when we showed up those administering the boosters would only do me.
I think we're still waiting for SD and Dam-sel to get scheduled for it.

I feel tired today!
South of Boston and the Cape and Islands got hammered by a storm on Monday night.
Weather stations are calling it a bombogenesis.
That's right.
Mother nature bombed south eastern Massachusetts.
It actually really sucks.
For me, a pine tree snapped in half and landed on my house.
Punched a hole in my bedroom wall and missed my head by about half-a-foot.
I feel like I hit the lottery though because a tree company that I had used earlier this year was working on a neighbor's house, who also had a tree go into their bedroom, and the were nice enough to take care of me after them.
Trees are like shattered all over the place.
Power could be down for several days.
Luckily I got a small generator a few years ago and I finally get to use it.
It's enough to keep the refrigerator, a small heater and a few lights on.
Gas stations are running out of gas so I have to drive around to fill up my two 5 gallon gas cans.
Spent the day with the chainsaw and the rake.
I'm almost too old for this.
And I'm starting to smell.

Wow, HLT! You've been through the mill my friend. You seem however, to have come through it in remarkably high spirits and having coped with it way better than I could have in my best dreams! Generators and chopping wood and stuff. Wow. I'm in awe of your resilience and capabilities. I'd have been in some grubby temporary accommodation under sedation!

It's funny you mention high spirits.
5 hours after the power came back on we lost it again.
Apparently a tree down the street was on a slow fall and hit the power line in the middle of the night.
Boom! went the transformer.
SO I had to break out all the extension cords and generator again.
This time it was only 12 houses and not 3/4 of the town so I was expecting to be on the end of the priority list but luckily a neighbor was able to get a tree removal company to swing by and then the power company showed up.
By the end of the day the power was back on and a carpenter patched my roof.
I was extremely lucky to have everything fixed so fast.
But now I'm in constant fear of losing power again!
Like a low low level PTSD or something.
Now I have to deal with the insurance company.
I know, 1st world problem.

Pine trees should never be near your house. Growing up in the South where it stays warm longer, if we got an unexpected freeze, they tended to almost explode because the sap/water inside of them would freeze and expand.
Because of that I would never have a pine tree anywhere near my house or powerlines.
BTW - Glad you got your power back. After a few weeks with no power interruptions the PTSD should decline.

Never been a great pine-tree fan. The ground under them tends to be really acidic and this makes it difficult for anything else to thrive in their presence. Pine forests tend to be dark eerie places with little to no wildlife (in the UK at least). Not my cup of tea.

Agreed StevieG. Both spectacular trees lovely to behold. I love a good mixed English wood as well - oak, beech, birch and the like. Pine forests just seem so dark and dismal in comparison.

The first musical I've ever been cast in. Local friends are welcome in person if comfortable with the socially distancing protocols in place. If not comfortable, Zoom viewing is also available, both for locals and those elsewhere.
I'm not in great voice, and memorizing lines is a beast; I'm almost embarrassed to invite folks for my performance. But, we're definitely community theater, and working on it has been fun. Come share our joy in telling this Mark Twain tale.
